GarageBand-Sample Song Creation (Task 1)Follow these steps to create a simple rock song in GarageBand.

Procedures:

1. Click the GarageBand icon in

the dock. Then, select New

Project.

2. Click Loops.

3. Now, name your project and

press create.

4. This is the Track Area where

you will be creating your song.

Look at:

Types of Loops

Loops to Choose From

Drag Loops Here area

Track Area

5. Look at the types of loops we

can search. First, select All

Drums. Next, select Rock/

Blues.

6. Now, find the loop entitled

Classic Rock Beat 01 below

the search parameters.

. Click and drag the loop into the

track area. A new track is

created once it drags into the

track area.

7. After you drag the loop or

sound clip to the beginning of

the track, place your mouse

cursor at the end of the sound

clip and toward the top right

corner and drag the sound clip

to measure 20.

TIP: The mouse cursor will

change for a pointer to anarrow circling around. Like

the image to the left.

8. Lets change our search options for loops.

Press Reset. Select Rock/Blues and

Choose Bass.

9. Scroll down and click Groovy

Electric Bass 01. Drag and drop this track into

under the last track.

Then, drag the sound clip to

measure 20 by clicking the

upper-right corner of sound clip.

10.Press the Reset button.

Select Rock/Blues

Choose Elec Piano

11.Find and choose the sound clip

entitled Moody Electric Piano 01.

12.So far, we should have three

tracks--for drums, bass, and

electric piano.

Lengthen the Moody Electric

Piano 01 sound clip to measure

20 by clicking the top right corner

of the sound clip.

12.Press the Reset button.

Choose Rock/Blues again.

Find and click Guitars.

13.Scroll down and find the track

Modern Rock Guitar 01.

Click and drag this sound clip

into the track area.
