1 Introduction
1.1 About this Addendum
The ViewForum for Allura Xper FD20 series Addendum is an addendum to the following Instructions for Use:• Allura Xper FD20• Allura Xper FD20/10• Allura Xper FD20/20.
It is intended to assist users in the safe and effective operation of the product described, and must be read in conjunction with the Instructions for Use for the Allura Xper FD system and the ViewForum system.
For guidance on using the Xper module, please refer to the Instructions for Use for the Allura Xper FD system you are using.
For full details of ViewForum functionality, please also refer to the ViewForum Instructions for Use.
Before attempting to operate the product, you must read this Addendum, noting and strictly observing all WARNINGS and CAUTION notices.
W A R N I N G A WARNING alerts you to a potential serious outcome, adverse event or safety
hazard. Failure to observe a warning may result in death or serious injury to the user or
patient.
C A U T I O N A CAUTION alerts you to where special care is necessary for the safe and effective use

1.2 Compliance
The product complies with relevant international and national standards and laws. Information on compliance can be obtained from your local Philips Healthcare representative or from:
IEC 60601-1-1
The product complies with IEC60950/UL60950 and can be used as a stand-alone product as well as part of an X-ray system.
To ensure compliance to IEC 60601-1-1 when using the product as part of an X-ray system, the product must be installed and connected as described in section 2 ‘Installation’.
The measures to be taken with respect to safety when used as part of an X-ray system are described in the Instructions for Use for the X-ray system itself.

22 Installation
2.0 Introduction
The product is installed and configured completely by a Philips Service engineer as part of delivery and hand-over. During its use or due to changes in the place of installation, modification to the product or configuration may be necessary. This will be carried out by a Service engineer.
N O T E Alteration of the product without permission of manufacturer is prohibited. Such
alterations may cause the product to malfunction.
General
The product and associated X-ray equipment satisfy the terms of IEC 60601-1. These terms provide, inside and outside the patient environment, the level of safety stipulated in IEC 60601-1-1 only if the product is installed and connected according to the electrical safety measures described in the following table.

3 System overview
3.0 Introduction
ViewForum for Allura Xper FD20 series extends basic control of the ViewForum workstation to the Xper module in the examination room.
Using the Xper module, you can perform the following actions:• replay runs from the patient’s studies and select reference images to view
during interventions.• modify basic image settings.
Images are displayed on a monitor in the MCS, which can be either a dedicated slave monitor, or a monitor shared via the optional MultiVision equipment.

3.1 Xper module
Functions for ViewForum on Allura Xper FD series are provided on the Xper module in the following dedicated screens.
Functions for ViewForum on the Xper module are a subset of the functions that are available on the ViewForum workstation.
Provides tools for adjusting the contrast, brightness, and edge enhancement of the currently
displayed image
Contrast, brightness, and edge enhancement
Provides tools for panning and zooming the currently
displayed image
Pan and zoom
Provides tools for reviewing runs in the selected study, and
gives access to further processing tools
Navigation
Provides tools for selecting a study for the patient currently selected on the Allura Xper FD
system

MultiVision
MultiVision is an integrated video switch, which allows a monitor in the examination room to be shared between several sources, including ViewForum. These sources can be allocated either to the examination room or to the control room.

• Do not start up the product unless you and all other users present have read, fully
understood and know all the safety information and emergency procedures given in
the Safety section of the Instructions for Use for the Allura Xper FD system you are
are using. Operation of the product without having read, understood and knowing
all the safety information and procedures in the Safety section could lead to fatal or
other serious personal injury.
The following procedures describe how to access functions for ViewForum on the Xper module.
For guidance on using the Xper module, please also refer to the Instructions for Use for the Allura Xper FD system you are using.

4.1.1 Accessing ViewForum in the examination room
Conditions
You must be logged on to the ViewForum workstation as well as the Allura Xper FD system.
To access functions for ViewForum
1 On the Xper module, press the |Tools| main task button.
2 Press the |ViewForum| application button [1].
On the Xper module, the Select study screen is displayed.
On the ViewForum monitor in the examination room, the Study Search Window is displayed, containing the results of a query for studies for the patient currently selected on the Allura Xper FD system.
N O T E If no studies are found for the currently selected patient, the Study Search Window is
empty. In this case, you can select a patient and study using the ViewForum
workstation in the control room. See page 4-4 for details.

To select and open a study on the Xper module
1 In the Select study screen, use the |Study| buttons [2] to select a study in the study list:
N O T E Press and hold either of the arrow buttons to move through studies in the study list.
2 Press |Open| [4] to open the selected study.
On the Xper module, the Navigation screen is displayed.
On the ViewForum monitor, the selected study is opened in the viewer.
W A R N I N G It is your responsibility to ensure that the study displayed on the ViewForum monitor
belongs to the patient currently selected on the Allura Xper FD system.
N O T E S • If the query for studies finds only one study, the study list is not displayed and the
study is automatically opened. In this case, press |Open| [4] in the Study select
screen to open the Navigation screen.
• If another patient is selected on the Allura Xper FD system while functions for
ViewForum are open on the Xper module, you must return to the Select study
screen and press |Open| [4] to synchronize the Xper module with the newly selected
patient.
• When the patient selected on the ViewForum workstation differs from the patient
selected on the Allura Xper FD system, the ViewForum workstation switches to the
patient/examination screen, and displays a warning. Additionally, images are
displayed in an orange border and annotations are displayed using orange text.

To refresh the study list
If you select or create a new patient on the Allura Xper FD system, you can refresh the ViewForum study list to display studies for the new patient.
• In the Select study screen, press |Refresh| [3].
To select a study on the ViewForum workstation
1 On the ViewForum workstation in the control room, select the patient and study you want to open for viewing in the examination room.
2 In the Select study screen on the Xper module, press |Open| [4].
On the Xper module, the Navigation screen is displayed.
On the ViewForum monitor, the selected study is opened in the viewer.
