Innovation: From Technology Breakthrough to Customer-Centered

For many companies, there is often a huge difference between what’s in their business plans and the market’s expectations for growth. This growth gap comes from the fact that companies are still pouring money into what made their success in the past, namely developing technology breakthrough in their R&D labs, instead of working to understand what the customer wants and then using that understanding to drive innovation. In this talk we will look at the different ways to innovate, especially in large companies, and describe new customer-centric approaches which enable companies to innovate and maximize return on investment while coping with the ever accelerating time to market.

Evolving Expectations & Shifting Markets - What Does This Mean for Innovation?

At WSFS, an independent community bank in Delaware, innovation is not just a noun, it is a way of doing business. It is engrained in our culture. We encourage each Associate to think of new and creative ways to improve the way we do business. Innovative ideas do not just come from the Innovation Team, nor even from the business lines - rather they come from every layer of the organization. It is not always the next great product or service that makes us innovative, but also the incremental improvements to the way we do business on a daily basis. At WSFS culture is key to our innovation efforts.
