PRINCIPAL’S REPORT…. Can you believe it is December and the season of summer is upon us? As I am writing this report the students and teachers are under B COLA with our final practice before the Presentation Day ceremony being held tomorrow (Wednesday, 5 December). You will be in for a treat when the students sing our traditional “song for the school community” at the end of the ceremony. The countdown to the end of the year is really upon us. At our Administration Meeting this morning we were abuzz with all the organisational and procedural matters that need to be attended to before the end of term…there is a long list! Since our last Chatterbox, the Kindergarten 2019 Orientation Program has concluded and the School Spectacular has been held. Our final orientation day saw the Year 5 students take our new parents on a tour of the school. The feedback from parents was overwhelmingly positive, with one noting “if my child is as articulate with adults as our guides were today I will be very happy”. We look forward to welcoming 70 new “Kindy Kids” and their families in 2019. The School Spectacular Dance Groups, coordinated by Ms Skinner and Mrs Sherring, were absolutely spectacular! I have been attending “School Spec” (as we affectionately call it) for a number of years and this year’s event was simply magic! Spectacular in every way! Last Monday night the final P&C meeting and the AGM’s for both P&C and Canteen were held. Mrs Wedgwood, our P&C President delivered a heartfelt report and acknowledged Mrs Brackley (Kiara in 6R), Mrs Cooper (Matt in 5/6P), and Mrs Philip (Ronin in 6S) for their tireless efforts in supporting the school and the P&C over many years. And, to end this report, Lincoln Parmeter (Year 6) is a true champion! He has excelled in so many sporting fields this year and has always maintained a high level of engagement with his studies. Mrs Rowland and Mr Dodd were fortunate enough to witness Lincoln receiving a BLUES AWARD at the SSW Sport Association Blues Sporting Achievement Awards night held on Monday, 3 December at Liverpool Catholic Club. We are all extremely proud of you Lincoln! As our year is drawing to a close there are still a few highlights to come: Softball K/O Final on Thursday, 6 December (Good luck); Principal’s BBQ Monday, 10 December; Year 6 Farewell Dinner at Bankstown Trotting Club on Tuesday, 11 December; Reports go home on Friday, 14 December; Year 6 Mini-Fete on Monday, 17 December; Class parties on Tuesday, 18 December Last day of term for students and Year 6 Farewell Arch on Wednesday, 19 December. With my very best wishes, Sandra Palmer. SCHOOL SPECTACULAR Schools Spectacular is an outstanding showcase of the talent in NSW public schools. On Friday, 23 and Saturday, 24 November, Mrs Sherring and Ms Skinner had the absolute pleasure of accompanying 24 students from Panania Public School so they could perform in this fantastic show. These selected students performed at Qudos Bank Arena with approximately 5300 other students. After many mornings of early starts, late finishes and all day rehearsing the students demonstrated resilience and perseverance and did Panania Public School extremely proud. They have all created memories that will last a lifetime! Thank you to all parents who supported their children. Your commitment and dedication towards this event is extremely valued and appreciated and without your support, this experience would not have been possible. Panania Public School is Spectacular! TOYS N TUCKER DRIVE AND TOY DRIVE

This year, as every year, we put out the call for donations of new toys and non-perishable food to assist Anglicare's Toys N Tucker and AusRelief's Drought Appeal toy drive programs. And wow… did Panania Public School deliver!

It was heart-warming to see, firsthand, the generosity of our school members and wider community when collecting for this program.

Now, families who may not have been able to enjoy delicious treats on Christmas Day can celebrate this special day with Christmas puddings, fruit mince pies, tea, coffee, sweet biscuits and so much more. Further, children and teenagers will have presents to open and now will be able to play with their gifts on Christmas Day.

Thank you to everyone who donated for your generosity. It does not go unnoticed.

"The miracle is this, the more we share, the more we have."

Mrs G Deering, Toys N Tucker Drive Co-ordinator.

We sincerely thank our advertisers for their support of our school. The Department of Education and Panania Public School do not necessarily endorse these companies or their services and products.
