Chelsey Mannel (Gr. 4) and Ethan Mannel (Gr. R) joined the Kyousei karate dojo in Parow 6 months ago. Both learners took part in their first karate tournament, the Kyousei National Championships, which was held in Cape Town this year on 15 June 2019. Chelsey won a bronze medal in kata and a gold medal in kumite. Ethan won a bronze medal in kumite. We congratulate both of these learners who committed to putting in hard work after school hours, which ultimately resulted in both of them being awarded medals.
