A Message from Sister Sheila Murphy, SSJ [email protected]
Dear Parents/Guardians:
Although we are just past the first month of school
year 2016/2017, some plans are in place for year
2017/2018. I have been in contact with FACTS, the
company which handles not only tuition payments
but also tuition assistance applications. They will
open the site where families may apply for tuition
assistance 17/18 on October 15, 2016. I encourage
you to apply as soon as possible and before
12/31/16. Go to www.capetrinitycatholic.org.
Click on the graduation hat icon in the top right
hand corner. This will bring you to the FACTS site. I
encourage families to apply for tuition assistance.
It is our goal to offer Catholic Education for all
families who desire it and the data received from
your application helps us to distribute awards as
fairly as possible. As part of supporting
documentation you may use your most recent tax
returns. You do not need to wait for your 2016
returns.
I know that parent liaisons are busy preparing for
“Trunk or Treat”, Friday, October 28 between 6:30
and 8:00 PM. This is a family non-alcoholic event
and in light of recent news it is a non-clown event
also.
Next week I will resume writing about curriculum.
Blessings,
Sister Sheila

ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
We’ve had some pretty exciting games and
meets this past week!
In Soccer, last week CTC played a great
game Tuesday (10/4) against Bishop
McHugh. CTC’s Elder made a goal to end
the game with a tie 1-1. On Thursday
(10/6), CTC played a tough battle against
Pilgrim Academy. The team played a great
game to hold 0-0 at the half. In the 2nd,
Danny made a goal to put CTC on the
scoreboard. Andrew (goalie) defended
against shots taken on the goal. Despite
our best efforts, CTC came away with a loss
2-1. This week, CTC played HOME on
Tuesday (10/11) against Atlantic Christian
followed by another HOME game today
(10/13) against Bishop McHugh. Next
week, CTC plays HOME on Tuesday (10/18)
against Crest Memorial.
In Cross Country, last week CTC had a
HOME meet on Wednesday (10/5) against
Bishop McHugh. Both the girls and boys
had strong finishes, but in the end CTC lost
31-24 and 33-22. The overall top 10
finishers for the girls were Kennedy (1st),
Emmie (5th), Ivy (6th) and Kaitlin (10th). The
overall top 10 finishers for the boys were
Liam (1st), Max (6th), Declan (7th) and Blake
(9th). CTC had a HOME meet Thursday
(10/6) against Crest Memorial. The team
all had improved times. Despite this
however, CTC ended with a loss 39-16 and
36-19. The overall top 10 finishers for the
girls were Emmie (5th), Ivy (8th), Kaitlin (9th)
and Diamond (10th). The overall top 10
finishers for the boys were Liam (2nd), Max
(8th), and Declan (10th). This week, CTC has
