Parish Directory

It has been many years since we’ve had a parish directory made and much has changed since then. We will be working with Lifetouch Studios to create a new directory. Photo sessions will be October 8-10 – there will be more info soon on how to sign up. Theresa Petruzella will be coordinating this process (thank you, Theresa!). Be thinking also of any good photos you might have on hand to share. We can scan them and return the originals to you. Stay tuned!

NEW! Priest Retreat

Fr. Jerabek and Msgr. O’Connor will be on retreat in Cullman with the other priests of the Diocese from Monday, Sept. 14 to Thursday, Sept. 17. During that time, Masses will be covered by the Franciscan Friars and all schedules will be the same – except that there will be no 7:00am Confessions on Tuesday, September 15.

DON’T FORGET! Labor Day Festival

Everyone is invited to the 29th Annual Labor Day Festival at Our Lady of Lourdes on Monday, September 7 from 9:00am to 4:00pm. There will be games, food, arts and craft booths, shopping, and entertainment. Proceeds from the festival support Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and various community ministries & programs.

Ladies’ Sodality

The Ladies’ Sodality will meet on Tuesday, September 8 at 9:15am in the Fireside Room. New members are welcome and encouraged to attend! Look for a bulletin announcement soon about exciting changes to the Sodality!

REMINDER! St. Barnabas Choir

Many people have expressed interest in having a choir again at St. Barnabas. Therefore, we will hold an informal meeting on Sunday, Sept. 13 following the 10:00am Mass over in the School Cafeteria to begin this process and answer questions. Anyone who might be interested in joining this ensemble is encouraged to attend. NO CHOIR EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

NEW! Josh’s Address

Seminarian Josh Altonji has returned to school for his third year of Sacred Theology studies. If you’d like to keep in touch with him, you can write to him the old-fashioned way at:

Mr. Josh Altonji Pontifical College Josephinum 7625 N. High St. Columbus, OH 43235

RCIA – WHOM WILL YOU INVITE?

We will have an RCIA program again this year and all are asked to invite someone to “come and see” what the Catholic Church is all about.

CLASSES BEGIN THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10. Complete schedule on the back of the bulletin.

It could be a non-Catholic spouse, a fallen-away family member, a co-worker who always asks you questions, a neighbor…. anyone!

If you do not invite them, who will?

RCIA stands for “Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults” and, as the name implies, it is the initiation process for becoming Catholic. However, nobody is asked to “sign on the dotted line”! All we ask is that those who come have an interest in learning about the Catholic faith and an open heart to do God’s will.

Already Catholic and just want to “update” your faith or review the basics? This class is also for you! Talk to Father Jerabek if you’re interested! ALTAR/CHURCH M. Lemonis & J. Buchanan ALTAR LINENS Jennie Haynes PANTRY Tom & Margo Lemonis
