The number of rentals in the village of Sussex parkshelters and enclosed buildings increased in 2012 fromthe previous year, according to information in Park andRecreation Annual report that was presented to theSussex Village Board June 24.
According to the report, the total number of rentalsincreased to 282 in 2012 from 196 in 2011. The biggestincrease came at the Youth Hall, which had three rentalsin 2011 but 37 rentals in 2012. Also, rentals at the
Community Center increased from 34 in 2011 to 87 in2012.Last year saw the transition to a new Director of
Reaction Services, as Sasha Snapp took over the positionfrom Amy Flaherty. Recreation Program CoordinatorMegan Sackett filled in as interim director while JeanHorner joined the department as a senior program coor-dinator.
In her comments to the board, Snapp said she wasvery impressed that staff was able to "keep the ballrolling" during the transition. Snapp said that Horner "hasadded a tremendous amount to what the department isdoing with a very limited amount of hours."
Snapp said Horner works eight hours a week and hascreated a quarterly craft club, a monthly book club, andhas increased sponsorship and partnership in senior-focused organizations. She also said that Horner hasbeen involved with the Senior Communications Committee

The new Fred Astaire Dance Studio inenomonee Falls had a very special
uest to teach a group dance lesson June9.
Anna Trebunskaya, one of the profes-onal dancers on Dancing with thears, provided beginners level instruc-

Tim Brooks, co-owner of theenomonee Falls, explained that the
vening included several fund raisingpportunities for Childrens Hospital of
Wisconsin. Attendees could have theirhoto taken with Trebunskaya, with the10 fee being donated by Kens Digitalhotography to Childrens Hospital of
Wisconsin. There was also a silent rafflend auction.
Brooks explained that he and his wiferistin have a 15-year-old daughter andad to take their daughter to the hospitalne time.

Brooks noted that she has been theInternational Grand Ball Latin champion,the Professional United States Rising StarLatin champion, a Blackpool Rising StarLatin finalist and the United StatesNational Professional Latin finalist.Trebunskaya also has been a two-timerunner up on Dancing with the Stars.
