I am humbled and grateful for all the wonderful hard working people who came and gave of their time and talents to help decorate the church for advent. We finished in record time and everything looks beautiful. Thank you! - Lori McInnis, Worship Guide Food Distribution: Our November 15 food giveaway served 139 households, 428 individuals, 150 under 18 and 60 over 65. Our next distribution is December 20 and WUMC is the volunteer group. We need help on Thursday, December 18 to unload the shed and Friday, December 19 at noon to unload the truck and 3 pm to box the food. On Saturday, December 20 we begin distributing the food. For more information, call Aubrey Smith at 540-347-7843 or Susan Dove at 540-347-1046. Our new WUMC Cookbook will be available Sunday, December 7, 2014! There are pre-order forms in the lobby. If you order before, the price is $13. On the 7th, they will be here for sale for $14. The cookbook is over 100 pages with 200 delicious recipes. It would be a pleasing Christmas gift! There is bound to be something for everyone. They will be for sale in the lobby outside of the sanctuary. Proceeds go toward replacing our old van. The Discussion Class will begin a new DVD based series titled “Under Wraps” this coming Sunday, November 30th. This Advent series explores four characteristics of God as evidenced in the Old Testament and then seen more clearly through Jesus when he actually gift-wrapped himself in human flesh so he could come and live among us and offer us life and salvation. Join us this Advent season in room C26 during the 9:30 Sunday School hour. Tricities is looking for new adult leaders. This mission will take place July 5 through July 11, 2015. We travel to Petersburg, VA and work on homes in the area. If you are interested, talk with Caleb Mathews or email him at [email protected].

Children’s Ministry News

Sunday School is today at 9:30 am! The theme for November is “Hope for God’s People” and the verse is “I know the plans I have in mind for you” (Jeremiah 29:11) We will learn about “A Savior is Coming” from Micah 5:2-5. Sunday School is for ages 2 - 5th grade. Christmas Shoeboxes for children are being collected again this year. There is more information on the welcome table if you would like to help. The Children’s Christmas Party will be on Sunday, December 14 at 11:15 am in Memorial Hall. Join us for crafts, a Christmas Story, and food. Bring a side dish to share. If you would like to help with this event, email Deb Wallace at [email protected]. The Roughnecks Motorcycle Club is sponsoring a toy drive to benefit Fauquier Family Shelter. There is a box in the main entrance. You may also drop off toys at Molly’s Pub on Main Street. The deadline is Friday, December 19. If you have questions, see Ken McInnis or Dave Settle at the Coffeehouse Service.

Seniors Seniors attending the trip to see “It’s a Wonderful Life” we will meet here at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 3. Can’t wait! Join us for our first annual Christmas Progressive Dinner for seniors. We need volunteers to host and others to cook. We would have 3 stops. The first house would serve soup and salad, the second would serve the main course and the third stop would serve dessert. The date for the dinner is Sunday, December 21 and we would meet at the first house at 4:30 pm. The host house does not need to provide the food. If you need more information contact Daniel Dubinsky at 703-431-2516 or [email protected].
