Broadcast Division

The Broadcast Division is responsible for the production and distribution of the host broadcast feed, liaising with television and radio rights holders, production of all superboard and superscreen content, management of archival footage and still photography, and sales and distribution of all Rodeo and Chuckwagon footage.

The Tourism Sales team collaborates with tourism partners, the Canadian Tourism Commission, Travel Alberta and Tourism Calgary. The team coordinates vetted familiarization tours and press trips in an effort to convey the Alberta experience.

Media Lounge Agrium Western Event Centre – Journey 2050 Classroom Open: 11 a.m. – 7:30p.m. The Media Lounge is open to all accredited media. Light refreshments and food will be available on a first come first serve basis. We ask that no interviews are conducted in the lounge. International Room – Agriculture Building, second floor Open: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Each year the International Room hosts more than 1,800 visitors from countries around the world. We provide a venue for agriculture product and service exhibits, sharing information on industry and sampling Alberta-grown food products. We invite international visitors involved in the agriculture industry to mingle with producers, industry specialists, government representatives and exporters.

About the Calgary Stampede The Calgary Stampede is a volunteer-supported, not-for-profit community organization that strives to preserve and celebrate our western heritage, cultures and community spirit. The Stampede contributes to the quality of life in Calgary and southern Alberta through its world-renowned 10-day Stampede, the year round facilities, and youth and agricultural programs. All revenue is reinvested into the programs and facilities of the Calgary Stampede. Quick Facts

The Calgary Stampede was first held in 1912.

The Stampede offers the largest purse in outdoor rodeo – more than $2 million.

The GMC Rangeland Derby chuckwagon purse is more than $1.15 million.

More than one million people attend The Calgary Stampede each July.

More than 30,000 Stampede posters are distributed around the world annually.

More than two million mini doughnuts are sold each year.

More than 200,000 pancakes are served at community breakfasts each year.

Stampede Park is comprised of 208 acres.

Approximately 3.6 million people visit Stampede Park year-round.

Each year 26 tipis are set up in Indian Village.

More than 30,000 flowers are planted on Stampede Park each year.

The Calgary Stampede is a not-for-profit organization

Calgary Stampede Foundation is a registered charitable organization.

Agriculture is at the root of the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede since its formation in 1886 as the Calgary Agricultural Society.

The Stampede has more than 3,000 year-round volunteers and more than 1,200 year-round employees.

Each July the Stampede hires more than 3,000 seasonal employees.
