Vern had his best career Calgary Stampede GMCRangeland Derby in 2011 placing 7th overall and qualifyingfor the Rangeland Derby’s “Semi Final Saturday” for thefirst time. He was the 2009 CPCA Champion driver, haswon six career CPCA show championships, and has quali-fied for the winner–take–all final heat for the CPCAChuckwagon Championship four times. Vern was one ofjust three drivers to race penalty free for all ten days at theCalgary Stampede GMC Rangeland Derby in 2007, was
