Schedule for Tonight
Introduction Binders: BFB and PK Student expectations during
homeroom Advisory Discipline Math Science Reading 6:25 move to room 203, Mrs. Kwiatek 6:40 meet with Specialists
Homeroom Expectations
Students will begin every day by making sure they have with them: BFB, PK, water, and snack.
Students should remain in their seats, but may talk with the other students at their table.
Students will have time to write in their assignment notebook the homework for the night.
Homework can be checked online Swampscott Middle School
Advisory 1:50-2:00 -Mandatory silent reading 2:00-2:15 -Homework done first!!
o Work on any unfinished class work.o Read silently
2:15-2:18 -Put away your materials.o Check your Agenda and make sure
you have what you need for homework tonight.
o Cleanup! Check for anything on the floor around/under your desk and put it away or in the trash.
o Gather your things onto your desk to go home
2:20 -LISTEN to announcementso Wait for Ms. Pappas to say goodbye
Grading/Assessment
Tests are counting twice Quizzes are counting once If 3 homework assignments are
missing throughout the term, students grade will go down 1/2 grade.
There are no retakes on tests and quizzes.
Science
This year we will study:– Earth’s place in the universe– Earth’s Changing Crust (Rocks and Minerals)– Weather– Ecosystems
– Working with text
Math
Very Important - Proficiency with Math Facts
Common Core - DESE website Extra help - available on Mondays from 2:20 to 3:00. Will start in Oct.
Reading
Spelling homework due on Fridays Spelling test on Fridays Basal reader with accompanying
workbook Trade books done as whole group
with individual responsibilities
