Reading 1 Dt 8:2–3, 14b–16a Moses said to the people: “Remember how for forty years now the Lord, your God, has directed all your journeying in the desert, so as to test you by affliction and find out whether or not it was your intention to keep his commandments. He therefore let you be afflicted with hunger, and then fed you with manna, a food unknown to you and your fathers, in order to show you that not by bread alone does one live, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of the Lord. “Do not forget the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery; who guided you through the vast and terrible desert with its saraph serpents and scorpions, its parched and waterless ground; who brought forth water for you from the flinty rock and fed you in the desert with manna, a food unknown to your fathers.”
Reading 2 1 Cor 10:16–17 Brothers and sisters: The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.

PASTORAL LETTER
It has been such a different kind of year. A year of the unexpected! As a school
principal and a former teacher, I don’t think I can say I have ever experienced so many
uncertainties but what I can say is that I know God has a Plan for us. By the Grace of
God, everyone is adjusting to a new way of life. Here at St. Joseph Catholic School, we
had to adjust to a new way of learning. Our outstanding teachers embraced the call to
innovate. Because of their commitment and love of learning, lessons transformed
quickly to effective, meaningful Distance Learning teaching. We knew the current
circumstances were not ideal, however we were able to connect and show our
students a love for learning. Teaching our students that God had a plan was most
important.
I can’t imagine a life where everything happened exactly how we planned it. What I do
know is that if everything happens for a reason. When God directs our lives and fulfills
His purposes through us, life rarely goes the way we planned. But we do realize how
much greater this life is when God directs our steps. But I reckon my own life to be
worth nothing to me; I only want to complete my mission and finish the work that the
Lord Jesus gave me to do, which is to declare the Good News about the grace of God
(Acts 20:24).
Most of all, I want to share that we must be strong and confident. Let us praise God as
we know he is there for us. Ask him for grace to trust in him. Let’s focus on today’s
blessings and be thankful for our caring community.

En aquel tiempo, habló Moisés al pueblo y le dijo: “Recuerda el camino que el Señor, tu Dios, te ha hecho recorrer estos cuarenta años por el desierto, para afligirte, para ponerte a prueba y conocer si ibas a guardar sus mandamientos o no.
Él te afligió, haciéndote pasar hambre, y después te alimentó con el maná, que ni tú ni tus padres conocían, para enseñarte que no sólo de pan vive el hombre, sino también de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios.
No sea que te olvides del Señor, tu Dios, que te sacó de Egipto y de la esclavitud; que te hizo recorrer aquel desierto inmenso y terrible, lleno de serpientes y alacranes; que en una tierra árida hizo brotar para ti agua de la roca más dura, y que te alimentó en el desierto con un maná que no conocían tus padres”.

Hermanos: El cáliz de la bendición con el que damos gracias, ¿no nos une a Cristo por medio de su sangre? Y el pan que partimos, ¿no nos une a Cristo por medio de su cuerpo? El pan es uno, y así nosotros, aunque somos muchos, formamos un solo cuerpo, porque todos comemos del mismo pan.

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a los judíos: “Yo soy el pan vivo que ha bajado del cielo; el que coma de este pan vivirá para siempre. Y el pan que yo les voy a dar es mi carne para que el mundo tenga vida”.
Entonces los judíos se pusieron a discutir entre sí: “¿Cómo puede éste darnos a comer su carne?”
Jesús les dijo: “Yo les aseguro: Si no comen la carne del Hijo del hombre y no beben su sangre, no podrán tener vida en ustedes. El que come mi carne y bebe mi sangre, tiene vida eterna y yo lo resucitaré el último día.
Mi carne es verdadera comida y mi sangre es verdadera bebida. El que come mi carne y bebe mi sangre, permanece en mí y yo en él. Como el Padre, que me ha enviado, posee la vida y yo vivo por él, así también el que me come vivirá por mí.
Éste es el pan que ha bajado del cielo; no es como el maná que comieron sus padres, pues murieron. El que come de este pan vivirá para siempre”.

CARTA PASTORAL
Este ha sido un año diferente. ¡Un año de lo inesperado y sorpresas! Como directora de la escuela y ex maestra, no creo que pueda decir que el pasado yo experimentado tantas incertidumbres, pero lo que puedo decir es que sé que Dios tiene un plan para nosotros. Por la gracia de Dios, todos nos hemos estando adaptando a una nueva forma de vida. Aquí en la Escuela Católica de St. Joseph, tuvimos que adaptarnos a una nueva forma de aprendizaje. Nuestras maestras han abrazado el llamado a innovar. Debido a su compromiso y amor por la enseñanza y educación de sus estudiantes, transformaron rápidamente sus formas ordinaria de enseñanza al de un Aprendizaje de Distancia que ha sido efectiva y significativa para sus estudiantes. Sabíamos que las circunstancias actuales no eran ideales, sin embargo, pudimos conectarnos y mostrar a nuestros estudiantes un amor por su educación. Ademas, nos enfrentamos a enseñar a nuestros alumnos de que Dios tiene un plan para ellos también.
No puedo imaginar una vida donde todo sucedió exactamente cómo lo planeamos. Lo que sí sé es que todo sucede por alguna razón. Cuando Dios dirige nuestras vidas y cumple Sus propósitos a través de nosotros, la vida rara vez sale como planeamos. Siempre encontraremos retos. Pero nos damos cuenta de cuán grande es esta vida
que tenemos cuando Dios acompaña nuestros pasos. Pero creo que mi propia vida no valdrá nada para mí; solo quiero completar mi misión y terminar el trabajo que el Señor Jesús me dio para hacer, que es declarar las Buenas Nuevas sobre la gracia de Dios (Hechos 20:24).
Sobre todo, quiero compartir que debemos ser fuertes. Alabamos a Dios porque
sabemos que él está presente para nosotros. Pídele su gracia para confiar en él. Centrémonos en las bendiciones de hoy y agradezcamos a nuestra comunidad que nos ha apoyado.
