2021

President’s Report Hi, hope you are all keeping well. Here we are in our third week of lockdown, now hopefully

with an end in sight on 10th September, when we may be able to start having small gatherings

again, albeit outdoors.

The last few weeks has been a great time for everyone to do their Spring cleaning earlier than

usual and finishing off the gardening giving us all plenty of time when lockdown is finished, to

get out into the community and do the Lions work that we all joined our Club to do.

Below is an updated list of known projects/functions that we currently have until the end of

2021.

7th September – Board meeting will now be online

8th September – Members meeting will now be online

22nd September – District Governor, Ron Parry’s visit – partners night – depending on Covid-19

status

16th October – Kurrajong Race Day – depending on Covid-19 status

27th October – dinner meeting with guest speaker Lisa Simpson from Ronald McDonald House

– partners night

29-31st October – District Convention Young

3rd November – Lilier Lodge Dinner to be discussed

We are still to get together and work out where and when we will be having our Christmas

Party. Anyone with any suggestions of a venue, please advise either the Secretary or myself to

enable it to be discussed with all members.

Till next meeting, stay well and look after each other.

Lions Code of Ethics To Show my faith in the worthiness of my vocation by industrious application to the end that I may merit a

reputation for quality of service.

To Seek success and to demand all fair remuneration or profit as my just due, but to accept no profit of success at

the price of my own self-respect lost because of unfair advantage taken or because of questionable acts on my

part.

To remember that in building up my business it is not necessary to tear down another’s: to be loyal to my clients

or customers and true to myself.

Whenever a doubt arises as to the right or Ethics of my position or action towards others, to resolve such doubt

against myself.

To Hold friendship as an end and not a means. To hold that true friendship exists not on account of the service

performed by one to another, but that true friendship demands nothing but accepts service in the sprit in which it

is given.

Always bear in mind my obligations as a citizen to my nation, my state and my community, and to give them my

unswerving loyalty in word, act and deed. To give them freely of my time, labour and means.

To Aid others by giving my sympathy to those in distress, my aid to the weak, and my substance to the needy.

To be Careful with my criticism and liberal with my praise; to build up and not destroy.

Lions Clubs Purposes To Create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world.

To Promote the principles of good government and good citizenship.

To Assist financially, culturally, socially and morally the handicapped, disadvantaged and infirm of the community

both directly and also indirectly.

To Unite the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding.

To Provide a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest, provide, however, that partisan politics

and sectarian religion shall not be debated by club members.

To Encourage service-minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to

encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, public works and private

endeavours.

LIONS INVOCATION We ask for help and guidance, to enable this gathering to think, act and work in such a way that our

deliberations will provide a meaningful contribution to our communities and to our country.
