PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
Our thoughts and best wishes are with those across the state who have been impacted
by the horrendous fires currently devastating NSW. Over 400 schools in NSW have been
closed today and we send our friendship and support to them all. After our own experi-
ence in January, it reminds us all of the need for everyone to come together to reach out
to those in need and to show our gratitude to all those working heroically to fight the
fires and take care of these communities and their residents.

WWPS will be celebrating Grandparents Day this
Friday, 15th November.
All our Grandparents and loved ones are invited to
enjoy a picnic lunch with their grandchildren at
1.00pm, followed by a concert/assembly at
2.00pm under the COLA.
We hope you can join us .
END OF YEAR REMINDERS
As the excitement of the end of year looms, I
would like to remind all our students to
maintain WWPS’s high standards for learning,
behaviour and citizenship. The school values,
code of conduct and consequences will remain
a priority right up until 3.30pm on the 18th
December.
SPECIAL NOTE TO OUR YEAR 6 STUDENTS:
At WWPS we do not write on our
school uniforms or clothing.
If you wish to have messages from your peers and
friends, please use The Crow, a journal, signature
book, signature bear etc.
This time of the year is always an extremely busy
time for our teachers and staff. There are reports,
awards, transitions, reviews, excursions, night
time events etc, all added to everyday roles and
responsibilities. Please remember the value of a
smile, patience and a kind word as we all prepare
for the end of 2019.
Have a great week.
Leanne

Our ‘Wagga Mos’ boys are taking on the challenge of growing a moustache
to support and raise money for the Movember movement, which raises
awareness of men’s health issues. You can support our hairy fellas by:
dropping a donation into the container in our office or online,
joining the movement and growing your own mo,
encouraging their progress throughout the month.
On Thursday November 28th we will be holding a ‘MO DAY’ at school
where everyone is encouraged to wear a mo and donate a gold coin.
IF WE CAN RAISE $500, MR JACKSON HAS AGREED TO LET ME SHAVE OFF
HIS BEARD. SO LET’S WORK TOGETHER TO SEE THIS HAPPEN
Men’s health is in crisis.
Men are dying on average 6
years earlier than women,
and for largely preventable
reasons. Unchecked, pros-
tate cancer rates will dou-
ble over the next 15 years.
Testicular cancer rates
have already doubled in the
last 50. And across the
world, one man dies by sui-
cide every minute of every
day, with males accounting
for 75% of all suicides.

PREMIER’S DEBATING CHALLENGE
It’s in the Bag campaign
For the past couple of years WWPS staff have donated to the Share the Dignity Christmas campaign – It’s in the Bag.
If you would like to join us you can drop any items at the school office.
You have the power to make life better for a woman or girl experiencing homelessness or poverty this Christ-mas. Provide sanitary products, personal hygiene prod-ucts and everyday luxuries to homeless women, women at risk or women experiencing domestic violence.
It’s simple. First of all, choose a handbag in good condi-tion that you no longer use. Then, fill it with items that would make a woman feel special, pop in a thoughtful note or Christmas card and show her someone cares.
Show her that she matters because everyone deserves to feel that way.
Next time you’re at the shops, collect a few items for your Christmas handbag. No matter how you celebrate Christmas with your family, this will be the most meaningful and appreciat-ed gift you give this year.
There are 3 types of bags that can be made up:
We also have some empty handbags that need filling so you can also donate single items we can use to fill the bags.
A big thank you to those families who have already donated.

It’s that time of year again, the Carols Under The COLA night is just around the
corner! Get ready to sing your heart out on Friday, December 6th. The festivities
will begin from 6.30pm with a fun evening of music, singing and Christmas cheer.
The Carols are a great way for the school community to get together and celebrate the
year that was. It gives the students an opportunity to have some fun with their friends,
and enjoy a final event with the Year 6 group, before they venture off to high school.
The night will feature:
Plenty of music, with each class singing a Christmas carol
Food for purchase from the P&C, or BYO picnic dinner (no alcohol)
Cool drinks and icy poles for purchase, to help keep cool!
Major prize raffles
There will also be a major prize available with raffle tickets being sold to help raise money for the following
school year. Our friends at Vuly Trampolines have generously donated an Ultra Medium Trampoline, valued at
$799.
Vuly Play are Australia’s leading outdoor play equipment designers and manufacturers of safe trampolines and
playsets. The heavy-duty frame and secure enclosure keeps bouncers safe. The netting (made from advanced
polyethylene) also undergoes rigorous testing for performance, in both high-UV and wet weather conditions.
For your family’s chance to win this and other incredible prizes, come along to enjoy a night of festivities.
Raffle tickets will be sent home to each family, sold at various school events prior, and on the night.
Don’t forget to BYO chair, beanbag or picnic rug and we look forward to seeing you there!
