Certified quality control system. Executive characteristics of the artisan methods used

Since May 2001 the quality control system of prandina srl has been organized according to standards Uni en Iso 9001: 2000. The quality control system, certified with certificate no. Cert-08474-2001 of dnv Italy, concerns the design, assembly and sale of floor, ceiling, wall, table and suspended lighting appliances. Prandina srl carefully undertakes to maintain the highest possible quality of its production, making wide use of brass and stainless steel for the parts to design in metal and using top quality electrical components, in addition to utilizing specialized labour for assembly, and subjecting its products to careful controls. The diffusers in glass are mainly produced according to artisan blowing techniques and mould pressing, flanking these traditional methods with the very latest modern procedures, where a qualitative advantage is obtained. Artisan execution limits can be found in particular in the blown-glass diffusers. In fact, it is not possible to blow two examples of the same type in a perfectly identical manner. Slight differences in the thickness of the glass, the weight and overall dimensions or the presence of tiny bubbles and streaks in the mixture must not be considered defects, but unavoidable characteristics of hand-blown glass. Our certified quality management system in any case provides for a control of all the diffusers produced, rejecting those that do not meet the criteria of formal, dimensional and colour tolerances established for each product.
