I hope that everyone had a great time during break!

Even though January was a fast month, we have already

started planning for DCON, and we were even able to

squeeze a few service events in. I hope that everyone is

enjoying their classes and I also hope that the semester

isn’t giving you too hard of a time! We have many

things to discuss and get ready for, so I hope everyone

is ready to have a great time! These next few weeks sure

are going to be something special!

It is once that time again

where Officer Elections

are upon us. We want to

remind everyone to start

thinking about offices that

you would like to run for,

or think of nominations

2

for others who you believe

would excel at their job.

Feb. 12th will open up

nominations. On Feb. 19th,

we will hold elections. If

you are nominated and

agree to run for office, be

3

ready to prepare a small

speech. You will also be

asked a series of questions

about UNM CKI! Best of

luck to everyone!

1

UNM CKI was very lucky

to help out at the Ronald

McDonald House this past

week. We were not only

able to take a tour and

learn about the foundation

2

but were baked and made

gifts for both the families

and volunteers at the

house! Definitely a great

experience!!

Southwest District CKI DCON 2015

1

As we quickly approach the date for

DCON, UNM CKI wanted to inform

every one of some preliminary things to

prepare for. As we all know, DCON

can be expensive, so we are trying our

very best to schedule fundraisers and

other events to help plan for this

convention. To the right is a list of

things that are known as of now about

DCON and what you need to do to

prepare if you are planning to go. If you

have more questions, feel free to ask.

2

Registration: Feb. 11th ($90

registration fee that is to be paid by

yourself in advance).

Fundraisers: We have planned at

least one bake sale, and a

percentage night to help with the

cost.

Theme: The theme this year is

going to be Masquerade. We are

also hosting DCON this year and

any help would be appreciate.

We want to remind

everyone that if you want

to be reimbursed for the

money spent for DCON,

you should also come to

some of the fundraiser

events set up.

We have booked two hotel

rooms for the people who

plan to attend DCON. If

you have any questions

about this, feel free to ask

the board.

DCON is going to be a fun

and great experience.

UNM CKI also goes home

with many awards, and it

looks great if there are

many of us that can show

up. Hope to see many of

you there!!!

On average, men spend about $130 each on candy, cards, jewelry, flowers and dates. Unfortunately that is more than double the amount that women will ever agree to pay!!!

85% of women purchase valentines…I wonder if any of them are lonely…
