Members of the Rocky Mountain District,

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity I’ve had to serve as your District Governor this past term. When I began my Circle K journey at the end of my freshman year, I never though this is where I would have ended up. It has been a privilege to watch this District continue to grow in membership and passion and I cannot wait to see the new district Board continue to reach new levels this upcoming year. Thank you for your faith in my abilities to serve as your Governor for a term and for allowing me to work alongside individuals such as yourselves. Although my term is ending, the adventure is not. Continue to live to serve and love to serve, Rocky Mountain.

Always Yours in Service,

Alyssa Smalley

Governor Farewell

Our New District Board

‘Ello mates! My name is Austin and I was recently elected to be your District Governor for our awesome district. I just wanted to take a moment and tell you about ideas I have for goals for the upcoming year and let you know how YOU can get involved.

For this upcoming year, I am expecting this district to explode. Over the past few years our district has been rebuilding ourselves from scratch. 3 years ago we really didn’t have a district, and the club that you are a part of probably wasn’t as strong as it is now, if it existed at all. Our members are more passionate then ever and the support that we are getting from Kiwanis has never been stronger. Our partnership with Kiwanis is one of the big reasons we are looking at getting new clubs in areas that we otherwise would not have the influence to do so. We are looking at chartering up to four new satellite clubs because of our strong connection to Kiwanis clubs in those areas. Chartering these new clubs is one of my big goals.

Another goal I have is to strengthen the membership that we already have. The key to getting more members to do more service is to give individual clubs the resources and support that they need. We need to focus on recruiting younger undergrads and people coming out of Key Club in order to develop future leaders of these clubs. This will most certainly be a focal point of the New Year.

Sure these two goals are pretty basic, and essentially common sense. But they are SO important. By putting all of our energy into the development of new clubs and growth of existing ones we can ensure that the district will continue to prosper way past the time that any of us graduate. We have done a good job of getting things started over the past few years, know we just have to make this foundation sustainable so that it last.

So you want to get involved? Awesome! There are a ton of positions that you can apply for on the district board for the upcoming year. Whether you want to be a general representative or focus on a specific goal for the year we have lots of opportunities available. Head over to rmdcki.org and on the homepage you will see a link to apply for open positions. We are looking for passionate individuals that are wanting to take their leadership and passion for service to the next level. Detailed information on all of the positions and instructions on how to apply are on the website, so defiantly take the time and decide if any sound right for you.

If you have any questions/comments/concerns about anything CKI, my job is to be available to help you! Shoot me a call/text to (970) 402-4698 and I will do everything I can to get you on the right path. We are looking at having a huge year of growth and I look forward to helping all of you make that happen.
