Alma Food research covers a variety of areas

ranging from agriculture, food economics and con-

sumer behaviour, to issues regarding environment

and health, considering a “fork-to-farm” approach.

The Integrate Research Team has been structured

on the pillars of the European Technological Plat-

form Food for Life and the single research groups

are clustered in the following research areas:

Alma Food IRT Bologna gathers and co-

ordinates the expertise of researchers at the Uni-

versity of Bologna from the social sciences, the

life sciences and humanities with the aim of pro-

moting research and innovation within the frame-

work of food-related studies. Alma Food both

meets the demands of a changing society and

responds to the challenge of efficient and pro-

ductive research.

Since September 2005, Alma Food has become

a reference point for research in the Life Science

area, and a main partner for the stakeholders as

the Food for Life National and European Tech-

nology Platforms, Business Associations, the Re-

gional Coordination Committee, Enea Biotech,

ISS, INRAN and the FoodForce Network.
