PASTOR’S PAGE

As we approach the month of May, I look forward to vacation. I will preach on May the 7th and be on vacation from the 8th through the 21st. Vince Brown’s brother Steve will speak on Mother’s Day, the 14th and someone from the Heartbeat Pregnancy Center will speak on the 21st. I have traditionally taken these two weeks off for years. This is because when we lived in Pennsylvania we would come out to

Ohio for Mother’s Day and then spend some time helping with the spring planting on the family farm. Of course, now we are here in Ohio and we are close to my parents and our oldest son and family near Wooster. The highlight of this vacation will be that on Mother’s Day weekend our youngest son Jordan will be graduating from Shenandoah University with a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree. We will be going out to Pennsylvania to stay with Jonathan, our middle son and then will be going to Jordan’s graduation. My parents and possibly Christopher our oldest son will be coming out as well for the graduation. It will be good to see old friends from the former church in Gardners, Pennsylvania. So my Pastor’s page for the newsletter has not contained much more than my own family news. But at the same time, I am reminded of the blessing of family relationships and I am certainly glad to be near my parents and oldest son. God bless all mothers on Mother’s Day and may God bless the worship services and speakers while we are on vacation. Denise and I are especially thankful for Trinity Church and everyone who is supportive of us and our church’s ministry. Happy Spring!

Pastor Jeff

All United Methodist Women News

Thanks go out to the many people who supported our hosting the Mid-Ohio United Methodist Women’s Spring Meeting in April. Not only did our members respond by being gracious hostesses, but many others also helped. Pastor Jeff provided Communion, Custodian Jake had the place looking clean, and the Trustees had done their job of keeping our beautiful church home beautiful. We received many comments on this.

Coming up, on April 30th is United Methodist Women Sunday. The first part of our written purpose is “to be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ”. To fulfill this, we have asked Pastor Jeff to preach, and his message will be “Putting God in the Center.” Women will be greeting, ushering, calling us to worship, and reading scripture during both services.

As there is no whole group meeting in April, we will meet again together on Monday May 8th at 7:00 pm with Della (Lyon) Mosier bringing the program on “A Purpose Filled Community.” This would be a good time to bring in your pledge money for mission.

Save the date - Monday, June 19th at noon for our annual Guest Salad Luncheon. The program will be on homelessness locally. Invite a guest! Women from neighboring Methodist churches will be with us.

Sewing/Workday continues on Wednesday May 10th and June 14th, in the morning. Poquer Club fellowship breakfast will meet Wednesdays, May 31st and June 28th at 8:30 at the Edison Depot for devotions and announcements.

Peace,

Anne Cotton 419-946-1340

Happy Memorial Day

The Cleaning Bucket update board is back in the Narthex. If you are able to “purchase” an entire cleaning bucket through a donation it would be most appreciated and will help those who need them. The cost of the bucket has risen to $65 but any donation towards the purchase will always be appreciated. When you make your donation, please be sure to write the check to Trinity United Methodist Church and write Cleaning Bucket on the memo line. Thank you Church Family on behalf of the Midwest Mission Team and Midwest Distribution Center. You always come through with the help.

A Building Use form may need to be completed and returned for approval and signature by the Trustee Committee. The forms are available in the church office or may be emailed by the office at your request. Your cooperation in this process helps everyone coordinate use of the facility. Thank you!
