Announcements and Events: June 11, 2017

    Welcome to Covenant Worship!

In honor of the commitment between Christ Episcopal Church and Trinity Lutheran

Church, Reading, we offer these excerpts from our covenant agreement.

In the name of the One God, Father Son and Holy Spirit. Amen

    Since:

The Lord Jesus Christ said: “I pray...for those who believe in me through their words

that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also

may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou has sent me.” (John 17:20-21)

    Accordingly we pledge:

    • To pray for one another that we might find the vision and understanding of our

    common faith.

    • To participate in the week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

    • To provide opportunities for joint worship as appropriate throughout the year.

    • To share facilities and programs whenever possible and to publicize the events and

    activities of our Covenant Partner.

    • To participate in joint action projects which will witness to our commitment to

Christ and promote social justice and the common good for our community.

    • To develop a better understanding of each other’s heritage and beliefs through

study groups, Adult Forums and other appropriate means.

    • To continue a joint committee to implement this document and

to develop programs and activities of mutual interest.

    • To evaluate our commitment to each other bi-annually.

    • To explore our ministry as God’s people in the world.

Snail Mail or Email and Worship Volunteer Opportunities

As you know, Trinity communicates a lot by email. Karen Nein, as volunteer

coordinator, is asking for updates: Are you using an email address but not receiving

emails from us? If your address has changed or if you no longer have email, please let

us know so we can remove your email address, making sure you receive

communications from us by U.S. Mail.

Perhaps something changed that you can no longer volunteer in some capacity (e.g.

health)? We could use some additional communion servers and assisting ministers.

We can spread out the responsibilities when more people are willing to take on

volunteer positions. And if you want or need training to take on a new responsibility,

    please let us know!

August 27 is an 11 AM service and picnic. For those who know they will not attend this

service, we need some volunteers for the 9:30 AM service in the sanctuary.

Please complete the form below and return to the office or in the offering plate.
