Class)

Unit Summary
Knowing the basic concepts of geometry is vital in living this life. People basically think of geometry as a hard subject, but people do not know that geometry is simply looking into what is hidden.
Unit Summary
This unit will help the beginners of the Geometry class to have an experience of the basic concepts about the subject. It starts with the three undefined terms-point, line and plane.
Unit Summary
It introduces the discussion on angles, polygons, triangles, quadrilaterals and circles as well as the solid figures or solids.
Essential Questions
Is there geometry involved in saving the Mother Earth?
Unit Questions
What is the importance of knowing the concepts of geometry?
How important is the act of collaboration (or cooperation) to the attainment of a particular goal or project?
Content Questions
Why are point, line, and plane called the undefined terms in the study of Geometry?
Is a coin considered as a circle?

Learning Outcomes
At the end of Third Year, the student is expected to demonstrate understanding and skills in geometric relations, proving and applying theorems on congruence and similarity of triangles, quadrilaterals, circles and basic concepts on plane coordinate geometry.
My Goals for the Course
To integrate technology with my style of teaching.
To validate if the project-based method is more effective than discussion/lecture method.
Goals for my Students
At the end of this unit, the student will be able to:
Explore the terms and notations used in Geometry
Point out the applications of shapes and sizes particularly in engineering, architecture and in our daily life
Student needs Assessment
What do you want to learn from your students?
I want to learn how the students today learn. Is it different from our way of understanding before?
Gauging Needs Assessment
Student needs Assessment
How will the assessment information help the students for upcoming activities in the unit?
The students will get the general picture of what is the subject all about and what we want them to learn from it.
Assessment Summary
The technology and the care for nature are incorporated in the assessment. Students are given the opportunity to use various media for their project. Some of which are computer, books, camera and film (ICT Literacy).
Assessment Summary
The materials required for their model/replica are those reusable materials. Although students may use newly bought materials, they are highly encouraged to make use of the old stuffs that show the concept of reusing and recycling (Creativity & Innovation).
Assessment Summary
Leaders and members are made accountable to their companions. This will be facilitated by collaboration rubric and documentation. The project making is highlighted by the group presentation, consultation and film showing.
