Guangzhou TV TowerGuangzhou TV Tower - the second highest tower in the

world. Built in 2005-2010 by ARUP for the Asian Games in 2010. Height of the tower is 610 meters. To a height of 450 meter tower was built as a combination of hyperboloid carrier retina and the central core. Hyperboloidal structure of the retina corresponding patent Guangzhou TV tower in 1899 the Russian engineer Vladimir Shukhov. [1]Retina of the tower is made of steel pipes of large diameter. The tower is crowned by a steel spire height of 160 meters. The tower is designed to broadcast TV and radio signals, and also to review the panorama of Guangzhou and is designed to receive 10,000 tourists a day.

Beijing National StadiumBeijing National Stadium (Bird‘s Nest)

The stadium has an interesting and unusual appearance. The stands are concrete "cup." Around this "bowl" are 24 truss columns, over which are interlocking curved metal beams. At the top of this structure interplay between taut film etilentetraftoretilena, it forms the upper part of the coating. In the lower part of the cover used polytetrafluoroethylene. These two materials are transparent, allowing sunlight to penetrate into the stands, and they are very light. For the stadium, China developed a new grade of steel that is different almost no external contaminants, which to some extent complicated welding steel elements. Originally it was planned to build a stadium with a sliding cover that completely covers the area to the field.

Eurotunnel, the tunnel under the English Channel

Eurotunnel, the tunnel under the English Channel - double track railway tunnel, a length of about 51 km, of which 39 km beneath the English Channel. Connects continental Europe to the UK rail transportation. Thanks to the tunnel was possible to visit London, going from Paris in just 2 hours and 15 minutes in the tunnel, the train is 20 to 35 minutes. Was inaugurated on May 6, 1994.

Eurotunnel is the third longest railway tunnel in the world. Longer are the tunnel "Seikan" and "Gotthard tunnel."

American Society of Civil Engineers (English) Eurotunnel has announced one of the seven wonders of the world today.

Ак си-Кайкёа́Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge - suspension bridge in Japan that

crosses the Akashi Strait and connecting Kobe on Honshu Island to the city of Awaji Island Awaji. Is part of the Honshu-Shikoku Highway and eventually enter into a system of three bridges connecting the islands of Honshu and Shikoku. The bridge is the longest suspension bridge in the world: its total length is 3911 m, has a central span length of 1991 m, and the side - to 960 m, the height is 298 m.V pylons of the bridge has a system of double-hinged beam stiffness to withstand wind speeds up to 80 m / s, up to 8.5-magnitude earthquake and withstand strong sea currents. To reduce the loads acting on the bridge there is also a system of pendulums, working with the resonance frequency of the bridge.
