COPE CORNER - Christian Outreach Program Elkhorn I wanted to update everyone on COPE events over the last few months. - The annual golf outing raised $15,000. Slightly down from previous years but still a very good amount and is our largest fundraiser. - Eagles club breakfast raised $1227, 2nd largest breakfast held. 100 backpacks were filled and distributed through the donations from the COPE partnering churches. Thanks so much to everyone who in any way helped. - The search continues for a physical presence in the Elkhorn commu-nity. We pray for a direction on this. - Upcoming events— Western Douglas County Wine Walk, Downtown Elkhorn, proceeds going to COPE is scheduled for Thursday October 17. Christian Brothers oil change event-Saturday October 12. Adopt a family Christmas drive. Thank you, Lori Hullinger, COPE Representative

Summer time is fantastic, isn’t it?

Each morning, we can get up and walk straight outside without worrying about jackets, gloves or long underwear. It’s nice just always being able to go outside and know you’ll be comfortable no matter what you are wearing or not wearing.

I’ve always felt that way about the United Methodist Church. I absolutely never pay attention to how people dress, act or believe. My only desire is that people don’t try to force their personal beliefs on me… and I try to reciprocate.

Enjoy the Summer!
