In its quest to inspire solutions TBL has
opened an office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Country Manager Mekonnen (pictured right) is
currently on the ground, working together with
our partners in addressing multimillion dollar
opportunities in the areas of training and ICT
solutions. A New Horizons Computer Training
Center is planned to be opened in the near
future to address the potentially huge ICT training market.
Ethiopia is in an ICT boom in almost every of its various indus-
tries. There are plans to take part in a major ICT exhibition in
the country at the end of May.
Techno Brain Uganda Ltd is now the second office to be ISO
certified, but the first to be ISO 9001-2008! This makes
them one of the first few companies in
Uganda to be certified this way given
the fact that previously certification was
for ISO 9001-2000. With this certifica-
tion TBUL are sure that this will signifi-
cantly help them to improve their per-
formance in future.
TBL Tanzania has received System Acceptance & Project Sign
Off Certificate from Tanzania Revenue Authority for the newly
deployed web based Motor Vehicle Registration System which
allows Integration between TRA‘s Customs Clearance System
(ASYCUDA) & existing Vehicle Registration System (CMVRS).
TRA acknowledged the stability and usefulness of the system
and already witnessed better collections and improved cus-
tomer satisfaction due to the new system. The solution now
enable citizens to register their imported motor vehicles at the
port of entry along with customs clearance and help TRA in
electronic verification of importation documents before regis-
tering any motor vehicle.

TBL Malawi earlier this year commissioned the Optical Mark
Recognition (OMR) data capture solution and Election Ware-
house Management System for the Malawi Electoral Commis-
sion to assist them to manage very important aspects of elec-
tions management.
Our solution arrived just in time! The fourth multiparty presi-
dential and parliamentary elections in Malawi were held on
19th May 2009. For this year‘s elections, there were an esti-
mated 5.9 million voters, 3,900 poll booths, seven presidential
contenders and 1,100 candidates for 193 seats.
Our solution on OMR capturing technology helped MEC to digi-
tize hundreds of thousands of election forms while, TBL‘s cus-
tom-developed Election Warehouse Management Software was
tracking the movement of each and every election materials
across the country. During MEC project, TBL has also done im-
plementation of state of art hardware and network infrastruc-
ture employing HP Blade Server systems, Fibre Optic Network-
ing etc. TBL onsite consultant Goodson and rest of the Malawi
team is managing the post implementation support of these
turnkey projects in Malawi Electoral Commission. Indeed, this
was an elections powered by Techno Brain Ltd.
On March 25th 2009 TBL Kenya completed the implementa-
tion of Serenic Navigator at AGRA, Kenya and Ghana offices.
Immediately thereafter, an Annual Technical Support (ATS)
contract was signed in the tune of 13,500 USD, which has
been paid 100%.
Furthermore, installation of Biometric Time and Attendance
system for GAPCO, in 5 locations i.e. Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu,
Eldoret and Mombasa has been successfully completed. All
sites are up and 100% payment has been collected and ob-
tained certificate of completion.
The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has officially ap-
proved our Final Report, following the consultancy for a new
and improved MIS system. This means that we, TBL Kenya,
can go into Phase III, where we will help them tender and pro-
cure an MIS system arising from our consultancy report. This
final approval letter serves as a certificate of completion.
The TBL Kenya team has also grown, from a total solutions
staff of 5 in 2008 (Alfred, Christine, Millicent, Loice and
Jeremiah) to 11 (original 5 + Mohammed, Nicholas, Samar,
Jean, Chris, Peter).
“I would like to update that we

tifications campaign and last
