    out of which a beam of light shines, laminating a

    thin strip down the corridor

    -Mid-shot and tilt of camera up to long shot of the door

    -During the tilt, a red carpet is shown with dark enclosing

    walls

    starts to gently play/ a slow sound of water dripping to theground starts to play

    The glow of a tip of a cigarette in

    shadowy darkness-To begin this mystery there is a close up of a younggirl with her hood up, lurking in the darkness down

    an ally in Central London. At this point the audienceare unable to see her face.

    -As she smokes the cigarette , all you can see is theglow of the tip and the deep cuts over her dirtyhands.

    -This follows to a cut to a long shot of her and a pan

    of the overflowing ally bins, smashed glass andrubbish. This is so the audience get a round idea ofwhere the young girl is.

    -Close- up of the girl smoking. She lifts her face andlooks up at the street lights , her makeup issmudged and she has a bloody lip, this is done toforeshadow a sense of fright and despair.

    -Girl throws cigarette to the ground. The camerafollows the fall until it gradually ends to a extremeclose up on the cigarette slowly burning out. This isa representation on the girls life heading for ruins.

    -The last shot is a mid shot of the girl walking out ofthe ally and disappearing into the crowds of Londonleaving he audience desperate to find out moreabout the girl.

    -The fact that the girls face is in darkness due to itbeing covered by her hood makes the audience

    question why they cant see her.

    -The audience wonder why she has cuts on her

    hands and face and why she happens to be alone inan alleyway in the darkness

    man hanging by his finger tips from the guttering of a

    roof high above the teeming, heedless city

    -Mid shot of a man clinging on from a guttering of aroof above a city. This makes the audience alert to

    danger, concluding to the ending result and the harsh

    reality which is death.

    -Close- up shot of the man slowly losing grip, his

    fingers are hurting him due to the weight and thestruggle to keep grip.

    -Non-diegetic music is used at a fast beat to highlight

    the urgency of the man finding safety.

    -Fast sharp cut to the clock to portray a sense that

    time is running out for the man that is stuck; there's no

    where to go, no safety. This follows to an aerial shot of

    passerbys , which is concurrent to the fast music , this

    foreshadows no one can help , he is isolated away

    from society.

    - The man cries for help to show he is beyonddesperate for his safety

    The constant use of cross-cutting strengthens thefeeling of fear in the audience as they are nervous

    as to what is about to happen

    The flickering sign warns the audience that

    something bad could happen at any moment. Thismakes the audience sit on the edge of their seats

    waiting for something to emerge.
