Events Week- Chill Out Sound Support

Chill out Sound Support provide appropriate information about drugs with the aim of eliminating, or minimising, the risks associated with drug use. Many people take drugs because they enjoy the effects, and generally consider it to be a social activity. Experimental and recreational drug use does have dangers and can lead to problems.

English, maths and …ICT?

Confetti offer you the opportunity to gain essential qualifications in English and maths as part of your main programme. Achievement of these qualifications is vital in securing your progression on to higher level courses.

We have not yet expanded this Functional Skills offer to include ICT. If you would like the opportunity to gain a qualification in ICT, see the Skills Team for suggested programmes that can be studied externally.

If you would like to see ICT qualifications available as part of your main programme next year, please let us know so that we can consider this for the future.

Fire Evacuation- know what to do1. Follow all instructions given to you by the nearest member of staff2. Evacuate the building calmly and quietly using the nearest exit3. Go to the designated assembly point on King Edward Street near the

entrance to Oceana nightclub4. Remain at the designated assembly point and follow the instructions of the

fire marshals5. DO NOT re-enter the building until you are told it is safe to do so by the lead

fire marshalPlease note- if evacuating from the new Beck Street extension, leave via the

courtyard exit onto Beck Street, then make your way to the CONFETTI FIRE ASSEMBLY POINT on King Edward Street

In order to evacuate safely, always follow the instructions given to you by the nearest member of staff.

Show consideration

Noise from the courtyard can echo through to classrooms, causing disruption to important sessions.

Please respect your fellow classmates by keeping noise to a minimum and always using the bins provided to dispose of food and drink wrappers and always disposing of cigarette buts responsibly.

Your radio station needs you.

Castle Radio • Live presenters are require and training will be given. • Students presenters can submit one hour radio shows to Curtis

Hodelin. (You r show should be based around presenting, complimented by the musical content and on CD).

• Presenter to follow the guidelines so that content can go straight to air, (see attached guidelines).

• Castle Radio management will vet and edit all material.• Successful show material will be added to the play list for the

coming weeks.

Castle Radio The new Castle College AM Radio Station is to be set up to run along

the lines of a Student Union society. This gives Confetti students many exiting opportunities in terms of helping to run the station and providing or developing content for transmission.
