Goldie is coming to Confetti

Goldie will be coming to Confetti to talk about his life and amazing success in the Creative Industries before performing an exclusive DJ set at Stealth. This will be a private gig for Confetti students only.

Goldie earned his name as a graffiti artist in the West Midlands in the early eighties. His artwork around Birmingham and Wolverhampton was featured heavily in Afrikaa Bambaataa's feature film documentary Bombing (which was broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK).

In addition to being one of the UK's earliest and most important Graffiti writers, Goldie has had great success as a drum and bass DJ, producer and actor. 1994 saw him setting up his own record label, Metalheadz. The label was a huge success, releasing some of the most important tunes of that era, and remains hugely successful and respected to this day. Goldie has also recently starred in James Bond, Snatch, Eastenders, Big Brother, BBC Maestro, and a social worker TV advert.

Full details of how you can join this and many other great Industry Week sessions will be announced in the student notices soon!

Check out the timetables around the building to get a full run down of the week’s events.

Personal Development OpportunitiesWhen we’re not fully present and aware, we move through life on auto-pilot. We live by habit,

reacting unconsciously to people and events around us. Personal development courses can offer us the tools to create change and actually apply them to our own life.

Castle College are offering some part time short courses focussing on areas many students are affected by;

Stress Depression AngerAnxiety Assertiveness Self ConfidenceFood and Mood Goals and Motivation Moving Forwards

These courses only take two to three hours per week of your time so could fit around your timetables here.

If you are interested in any of these courses then you can either contact Castle College directly; [email protected] 01158 842 749; or get more information from EST.
