From the Pastor’s desk…

I didn’t realize how much I appreciate the new life and color of spring

until it began a couple weeks ago. Winter seemed to be a season of various

shades of gray and brown. There were some beautiful sunny days with snow

glistening white. But when spring broke around us in the past few weeks, it

burst open in all its splendor. I have never seen so many trees ad bushes filled

to overflowing with blossoms! What a sight and what can compare to the colors

of pinks, reds, whites, yellows, we have see around us?

This is truly a season of new beginnings all around us.

We are in this “new beginnings” season as well, aren’t we?

We have celebrated our commitments in order to be prepared for our

new year that will begin on July 1st. In a way, we are starting over with the

“fruits and blossoms” of our lives bursting and coloring the world around us.

I look forward to another year of ministry which God will reveal as well as equip

and sustain us to share.

All the blossoms and beautiful around us and proclaim God’s

handiwork. We too, as part of God’s church, are beautiful and complete only

when all of us are “blooming and blossoming” God’s love to our fullest. What a

garden we will be in this coming new year!

For now, take some time:

surround your life in prayer,

put your feet in the sand,

take in a sunset or two or three,

enjoy family and friends,

take some time off to just “be”,

rest and renew yourself this summer…

See you on the beach at sunset, Gordie

Dear Church Family,

Thank you for the lovely

“yellow” tulip plant you sent to me. You are special.

Love and God Bless.

Helen Wiessner

Thank you for your lovely floral arrangement during

our time of sorrow. I was filled by the love of family

and friends poured out at that time. This year, Betty

and I got each other an animal at Heifer Interna-

tional. We got each other a goat!

Spring is Here!

It’s time to think about

adopting flowerbeds and

planters! There is a signup

sheet in the hallway. It you would like to keep the

same bed or planter as last year, please indicate that.

If you have any questions, please call Bette Mallen at

429-8219.

Thank you from the trustees.

Spring Rummage Final Report

Thank you for contributing to the success of our spring rummage sale. Your efforts net a profit of $3,045.00 for the UMW’s special projects. Many, many people need to be thanked: everyone who provided quality rummage, the phenomenal set-up crew, the UMW “angels” who provided food and snacks for the rummage sale workers, and the ex-traordinary clean-up crew. You all are appreciated and loved. (not just at rummage sale time)

After selling as many items as we could in the thir-teen hours that the rummage sale was open, we do-nated the remaining items to the following groups: shower chair to the Berrien County Cancer Service; clothing to the Battle Creek Veteran’s Hospital; cloth-ing and household items to Treasured Not Forgotten: A Free Store for All People; items to be used as prizes to the St. Joseph-Lincoln Senior Center; and all other items to Mosaic Resale Store and Resource Center in Benton Harbor.

Please note: As you have your own rummage sales this summer, please remove all of your prices on your remaining items. We appreciate and welcome your rummage sale leftovers for our fall sale.

A Quick Reminder From Your Membership Care

Team:

If you or someone you know is ill, in the hospital or

nursing home and would like a visit, please call the

church office. We can also bring communion to you.

From Your Membership Care Team!!
