Brother Knights,

I would like to thank all the Brother Knights that helped out at all the events, the fund raisers and Cash Bash. It is amazing what a council can do when we work and strive together to accomplish our mission. Let’s please keep up the good work guys!!

Now as we move into the Spring of the year I’m hoping soon we will see some warmer weather for the upcoming events like the ARC collection April 20th to 22nd, the Mother’s Day dinner on May 13thand also the ham and cheese sales.

And please remember the next meeting starts election of officers.

If you are thinking about or you are interested in become a officer please attend the meeting. If any brothers go trout fishing I wish you luck.

God Bless. Fraternally Yours,GK Richard Moyer

Pentecost in the Year of Grace

By Father Anthony J. Legarski, Chaplain

Brother Knights:

On May 20th the Church will bring to a close the Season of Easter with the celebration of Pentecost. Fifty days after the Resurrection, the apostles, gathered in the upper room, very much afraid of the fate that awaited them, became empowered by the Holy Spirit, andwent forth to do the work of Christ.

The time of Advent and the time of Lent are both accorded a “mid-point” observance. Advent has Gaudete Sunday and Lent has Laetare Sunday. It is during these times that the faithful are called upon to examine their spiritual progress through each season and discern how they may continue to spiritually grow.

In this Year of Grace, the Solemn Feast of Pentecost could serve as the same kind of benchmark. Pentecost is the birthday of the Church. As such, the feast invites us to renew and recommit ourselves to the work of Christ and His church. It calls us to discern with greater depth and focus how we can be better stewards of God’s many gifts. In addition to these things, perhaps we could ask

ourselves how we are doing in our celebration of the Year of Grace. What have we done to grow more aware of and responsive to the means of Grace? Have we endeavored to be more aware of the opportunities for Grace. Are we increasing the frequency of receiving the Sacraments? These among other things, are what the Year of Grace challenges us to do.

It would be most appropriate I believe, if we made Pentecost this year a special one by seeing it as an opportunity to “get onboard” with the Year of Grace.
