Foodbank - Your donations for the Foodbank can be placed in the box at the back of church. Please check dates on food as out of date food can not be accepted .

Handing on Our Faith - In our world the traditional ways of handing on the faith are no longer working. We must find ways to pass on this priceless gift. The first step must be to honestly face the realities around us. There will be a meeting to consider and discuss ’where we are’ and begin to reflect on how to move forward on Thursday 15th November, 6.30pm - 8pm in St Mary’s Parish Room. I urge all involved in teaching our children, preparing them for the sacraments, children’s liturgy and baptism preparation to come along to this meeting. All who are interested in considering this topic are welcome. Fr Paul

Christmas Stall - Christmas stall in St Mary’s parish room after 10.30am mass on Sunday 18th November. Please feel free to come and browse. All welcome.

St Joseph’s School Christmas Fayre - The fayre will be held on Friday 23rd November, 2pm - 5pm in St Joseph’s School, Frizington. There will be Santa’s Grotto, tombola, craft stall, lucky dip and lots more. Everyone welcome.

Cake Stall - the Caritas group are having a cake stall on Sunday 18th November after the 10.30am mass at St Mary’s, Cleator. Donations of cakes will be very much appreciated. The money raised will be forwarded to Let the Children Live, a Christian charity through which people can respond to the needs of children from the streets and shanty-towns of Colombia’s cities. It aims to both safeguard the lives of children from violence and poverty of the streets, and to make their lives worth living by giving them love, education and a future.

Coffee Morning and Christmas Sale - on Friday 16th November at 10am in Cleator Moor Methodist Church. Home baking, chocolate tombola, gift stall, refreshments and lots more. See poster at the back of church. All welcome.

The November List - During November Masses will be offered for those on our November List. The Rosary will be recited after each weekday Morning Mass at St Mary’s for the Holy Souls.

Christmas Draw Tickets - There are tickets left at the back of church, if you can, please distribute the tickets on the street that you live on, it will be very helpful - many hands make light work!

Please do not remove single packs of tickets from the bundles.

***Parishioners living in outlying areas: - Whitehaven, Hensingham, Egremont, Ennerdale, Moresby, Arlecdon & Lowca please collect a single pack of tickets from the box at the back of church.

If you notice any errors or omissions on the address list, or your own details have changed recently, please pass this information back to the priory. Thank-you.

The Priory Club - a great first meeting was held last Tuesday week in the Parish Room. It was really well attended and we enjoyed a talk from David Farrell about the forgotten heroes of World War One and those whose names are not on any memorials. We also had a fascinating talk from Fr John Mark about every day life in his home village in Nigeria. Our next meeting will be Tuesday 27th November from 10am - 12 noon. If you feel the need for a little bit of company please join us and bring along a friend and feel the love.

The Parish Sponsored Walk - I would like to thank everyone who took part in the recent parish sponsored walk. Also everyone who donated money and who helped on the day especially my family. Also a special thanks to Elaine O’Pray from St Leonards for allowing us to look round the church and the Cleator Cricket Club Committee for letting us use their facilities on the day. The result was an amazing £1,501.50 which was donated to Cheryl and Doug Clark for Cheryl’s medical fund. The Clark family would like to express their gratitude to everyone for their donations. Sean
