THE ASVAB CAREER EXPLORATION PROGRAM is a career planning and exploration program that combines a multiple-

aptitude test with an interest self-assessment and a wide range of career exploration tools. And it's FREE !

The ASVAB will be offered April 12th in the Falcon Room during blocks 1 and 2. Students will then be invited to the

computer lab at a later date to receive their results online.

11th and 12th grade students may sign up in the counseling office .

Let the college search begin! Please visit www.NACACNET.org for a wealth of

information regarding college search timelines and important reminders.

Is your student struggling academically? Here are some suggestions:

Free NHS tutoring is offered every TUESDAY from 2:45 – 3:45 in the Library. Tutors are available for all

core subjects and foreign languages. Students do not have to pre-register…just show up ready to learn!

A+ /Advisory? Students get 30 minutes of time to get help in a class they are struggling in, to review for

AP tests, to revisit SOL subjects, make up tests, etc. It is the student’s job to get a pass from the

teacher so they may leave homeroom to go see another teacher. Please encourage your student not to

wait until the last minute to request the pass.

Study skills/class skills can be found on the following websites:

Www.quizlet.com - a study aid, put in information and use the website for review

Www.khanacademy.org - math, science and SAT/ACT help (FREE)

Www.brightstorm.com - math, science, English and SAT/ACT help (Free trial)

Soon, we will be emailing parents/guardians with a web link to invite them to use Infinite Campus, our

student information system. It is our hope that once parents have this link and create a login, they will

be able to update and verify contact information for students in our system.

We sent a form home two weeks ago. It was due April 1st. If you have not yet checked your student’s

form and signed it/corrected it, please do so ASAP. If you do not have an active email in FCPS system,

please create one and call Mrs. Tamie Robinson so that she may add it to your student’s information.

Mrs. Robinson can be reached at 422-7307
