May 1, 2015 Dear Potential Sponsor, Dana Point Yacht Club and the Richard Henry Dana Charity Regatta® have a rich and proud history of supporting South Orange County’s charitable organizations. Since the creation of the event in 1999 we have supported worthy causes, including the High Hopes Head Injury Association, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the Ocean Institute. For the past 15 years the Charity Regatta has raised both critical funds and community awareness for these organizations and we look forward to continuing the tradition in 2015. We are pleased to announce that the Dana Point Harbor Youth Foundation (DPHYF) is the beneficiary for the 2015 Richard Henry Dana Charity Regatta®. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission of supporting the next generation of sailors by providing the opportunity for all youth to pursue the sport, regardless of financial circumstances. DPHYF serves as a unifying force, bringing together harbor organizations, including yacht clubs, the Ocean Institute, Mariners Sea Scouts and others, towards the common goal of supporting youth sailing. DPHYF knows that youth sailing is much more than a recreational or competitive activity. By participating in sailing programs South Orange County’s youth are able to experience an innovative form of physical fitness while learning leadership, social and communication skills and becoming good stewards of the ocean’s resources. The future of sailing is now and DPHYF is leading the way. We need your help to further the important work of the Dana Point Harbor Youth Foundation. As a sponsor of the prestigious and highly anticipated Richard Henry Dana Charity Regatta®, you will receive positive media attention at not just one event, but at a series of regatta-related events over a five-month period. We have included a detailed breakdown of the benefits you will receive with your tax-deductible donation. No matter which level you choose to give at, your donation will provide much-needed scholarships, equipment and funding to grow the next generation of sailors. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to partnering with you. Sincerely, Mike Hatcher Chair, Richard Henry Dana Charity Regatta®

Richard Henry Dana Charity Regatta® Dana Point Yacht Club was founded in 1952 by 25 members with a common passion for boating, a love of the ocean and a sense of pride in their community. Today, DPYC is a bit larger, with nearly 500 members, but that passion and pride still joins us. In 1999, DPYC embarked on a major fundraising journey to benefit local charitable organizations. By partnering with the boating community, local businesses, civic leaders and other individuals seeking to make an impact on their community, DPYC has raised over $650,000 for local organizations.

Dana Point Harbor Youth Foundation The Dana Point Harbor Youth Foundation is South Orange County’s driving force in youth sailing. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) with a mission and focus of providing the opportunity for youth who are passionate about sailing to pursue the sport. By acting as a unifying force for other harbor organizations, DPHYF ensures that the next generation of sailors has the resources and equipment they need. At the core of the Foundation’s mission is a scholarship program that allows young people to experience the benefits of sailing, regardless of financial circumstance. By participating in sailing activities children and teens are exposed to an innovative form of physical fitness. Because sailing is a team activity, participants also gain important communication, social and leadership skills and increased self-esteem that they will carry with into adulthood. Sailing also teaches young people to be good stewards on the ocean’s resources.
