TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER Process of transfering skills , knowledge , technologies , methods of manufacturing , samples of manufacturing and facilities among governments or universities and other institutions to ensure that scientific and technological developments are accessible to a wider range of users who can then further develop and exploit the technology in to new products , processes , applications , materials or services .
Horizontal transfer movement of technologies from one area to another.
Vertical transfer technologies are moved from applied research centers to research and development department .
FORMS OF TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER Commercial transferExporting resourcesImporting resourcesDual useScientific dissemination
FUNCTIONS OF TECHNOLOGY TRANSFERCoordinationNurtureLink
INTERNATIONAL CO OPERATION Interaction of persons or groups of persons representing various nations in the pursuit of a common goal or interest.
North-South Cooperation The term NorthSouth describes a geographical division whereby the North represents the richer countries of North America, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, and the South represents the poorer majority of countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
South-South Cooperation cooperative activities between newly industrialized Southern countries and other, less developed nations of the South.
North-South-South Cooperation is a new route of development cooperation where aid is channelled through institutions in third-world countries in order to support development projects in poor countries.
INTERNATIONAL CO OPERATION IN TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND THE CLEAN DEVELOPMENT MECHANISM
CLEAN DEVELOPMENT MECHANISM Clean development mechanism is a project based mechanism , where by eligible entities from developed countries may finance emission reduction projects in developing countries and use carbon credits generated by these projects to meet a portion of their greenhouse gas reduction commitments under the protocol.

TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND CDM SOUTH SOUTH COORPORATIONBasic level Firms get equipped with the skills , knowledge and resources , to deal with day to day activities more efficiently.
Intermediate Level Firms acquire the skills knowledge and resources which enable them to assimilate , change and improve technology through such activities as capital stretching , adapting or modifying processes , improving efficiency , etc..
Most advanced level Firms acquire design and engineering skills and resources.

BENEFITS OF SOUTH SOUTH CO OPERATIONIncrease in investment of CDM by developed countries.Sources of earning CERPut the world on the path of clean development.
CONCLUSION Transfer of environmentally sound technologiesis an essential component of the international climate change agenda. some of the developing countries have developed significant capacity in clean technologies via technology transfers and have reduced their dependence on foreign technologies.achieving sustainable development.
