#SocialSourcing/ #SocialRecruiting – SS / SR - the process of locating and engaging of active and passive candidates through the use of social media, platforms, and networks for the purposes of recruiting them.

#SocialEngagement – SE - also social involvement, social participation; refers to one's degree of participation in a community or society.

#SocialImpact – SI - The effect of an activity on the social fabric of the community

#SocialCause – SC - any project/campaign/initiative that we personally support because we believe that it is our social responsibility to help our fellowmen. Can be anything that benefit specific segments of society or the greater good of many.

#SocialCurrency - Social currency describes the resources and abilities created and accessible through presence in offline or online networks and communities

Social media is not a billboard it is a conversation. Recruiters/Sourcers should NOT only be posting jobs but sharing more content that will engage potential candidates, including things like:

Videos of employees talking about why they love working for the company

information about interesting company events discussions of workplace perks post related to social causes about which the company feels strongly.

To successfully recruit talent via Social Media, recruiters should focus more on marketing their companies as great places to work, and a little less on throwing contextless job openings at their followers.
