Social Media Assets and How To Use ThemWe’ve pulled together a series of social media assets for the badminton community to

utilise in their return to the courts as restrictions begin to ease across Australia. The focus

of these assets is to encourage and insight thoughts of returning to badminton as soon as

we are allowed. You’ll notice that many of the images are picture of social players and

showcasing the diversity of age, skill and gender that engage in badminton. The focus of

this campaign is to bring back those rusted-on players, the regular social players and the

every now and then players.

These images have been built for you to use on your social media platforms, and to

inspire you to build your own images to continue to circulate and create well into the

future. All of our assets fall into one of two categories; Badminton Is Coming Back or

Badminton Is Back. The use of either will depend on what restrictions that your

state/territory is currently experiencing.

Badminton Is Coming BackUse images with the #BadmintonIsComingBack caption when your state/territory is still

experiencing restrictions prevent indoor play. When thinking of caption to go with your

images think about building excitement and anticipation, referencing things that people

at your association or club love doing is perfect.

To keep track of your posts and to see what other associations and clubs around Australia

are doing make sure you put in a #BadmintonIsComingBack to tag it. Your state/territory

association and Badminton Australia will also be able to follow along with what content

you’re putting out. If you want to look at other content just pick your social media

platform (Facebook, Instagram etc.) and in the search bar type in

#BadmintonIsComingBack, this will bring up everything tagged within that platform.

Build Your Own Content!Congratulations! Building your own content in addition to the assets that we’ve compiled

will be a sure-fire way to engage with your community and get them back on court

sooner! While it might seem intimidating to build your own social media content it is

actually fairly easy once you have an idea in your head of what you’d like to build. There

are also a few products that you can use for free to make your idea come to life, for this

document we’re going to steer you towards Canva, although if you have access to the

Adobe Suite, the Adobe Spark program is also fantastic and free.

Let’s Start!

Type www.canva.com into your internet browser (or click the hyperlink)

If you don’t have a canva account, create one! A fairly easy process, you can either use

your email or sign up with your Facebook account.

Once you’re set up you’ll be taken to the home page (above), find the “social media”

design/image and click on that, you’ll be taken to the design window (below).

Once you’re in the design window you can start creating your masterpiece! The first thing

you want to do is to drag the image you would like to post into the design window

(below).

Resize the image to make sure that it fits the way you want it to. If you’re struggling with

a pixelated image or parts of the image are being cut out you might need to consider

using a different image. Using the “Elements” and the “Text” tabs on the far left of the

design window, you can add some flair to the image you’ve chosen.

There are plenty of options for text size, font and different styling/layouts so don’t be

afraid to try something a bit different!

Make sure to put in #BadmintonIs within your image so that those who are viewing your

image have some context to the post. Of course it will be accompanied with some text

copy within the post but having it in the image ensures that even a casual scroller will get

the message quickly!

Once you’re happy with the final image drag your mouse to the top right of the design

window with the word ‘download’. Click the arrow next to download, make sure that

you’re downloading a PNG or JPG of your design (PNG is a high-quality copy, JPG is a

lower quality). Once you’ve downloaded the file you can upload that directly to your

social media platform, how easy is that!
