HEALTH MINISTRY
FIVE WAYS TO HELP REDUCE YOUR RISK OF PNEUMONIA
1. Get the pneumococcal vaccines. Ask your doctor what’s right for
you.
2. Get a yearly flu shot. The flu can lead to pneumonia.
3. Don’t smoke. Lighting up or breathing secondhand smoke makes
it harder to fight off infections.
4. Scrub away germs. Wash your hands regularly.
5. Keep healthy habits. Easting well, moving more & getting rest.

Who are the Secular Franciscans?
Did you know there is a Secular
Franciscan Fraternity in our area? The canonically established Secular
Franciscan Order was started by St. Francis of Assisi for the laity who desire
to live the Gospel in the manner of St. Francis by means of his Rule. The local
Channel of Peace Fraternity consists of Catholics in our surrounding area
who have embraced a vocation to follow Christ in the footsteps of St.
Francis. If you are looking for something more in your spiritual life, perhaps
you are being called to this vocation. The Channel of Peace Fraternity invites
anyone who is interested in learning about the Secular Franciscan way of life
to a “Come and See: session on Sunday, October 13 at 3:00 p.m. in the Parish
Life Center at St. Jude Church, 930 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga.
Questions? Contact Gerri Toeller at 423-580-2004.
