Rachel's Vineyard Retreat for Post-Abortion Healing Rachel's Vineyard Retreat If you or someone you know has suf-fered from the physical, emotional, and spiritual effects of a past abortion, there is hope for healing. Rachel's Vineyard offers a
safe, non-judgmental, and confidential weekend retreat for anyone: women, men, grandparents, and siblings who struggle with the feelings of loss that can accompany an abortion experience. The weekend begins on a Friday night and concludes on Sunday afternoon. A Rachel's Vineyard Retreat is scheduled for July 8-10. For more information, or to register, please call Ruth Ruch at (701) 219-3941 or email her at [email protected]. All calls are confidential.
WOMEN'S RETREAT, July 8-10, 2016 "Jesus Christ is the face of the Father's Mercy" (This is line one of Pope Francis' statement calling for a Holy Year of Mer-cy) We chose, therefore, to name the retreat "Mercy: The Face
of God." We will pray, discuss and ponder scripture, life experiences, and more words of Pope Francis which speak to us about the importance of mercy and compassion in our lives and in the world. There will be conferences, time for prayer and group activities that will hopefully open us to become more acquainted with and more deeply realize the love of our God. In that process, we will seek to walk closely with Jesus through the Gospel accounts of his great mercy to the people he encountered in his journeys. For the remaining days before this retreat let us pray that the Holy Spirit inspire us to ask for the gift for which we are most in need right now. The retreat begins at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 8 and concludes by 12:30 a.m. Sunday, July 10. Sr. Anne Germaine and Sr. Dorothy Bunce are the presenters for this retreat. The suggested donation is $85.00 for the weekend. If you are unable to make this donation, the Spiritual Life Center will accept any offering within your means.
Registration is due by Friday, July 2. Register by contacting Sr. Dorothy Bunce: [email protected] or 701-845-2864 or mail to 11550 River Road, Valley City, ND 58072.

Heavenly Father, grant that our priests be strengthened and healed by the power
of the Eucharist they celebrate. May the Word they proclaim give them courage
and wisdom. We pray that all those whom they seek to serve may see in them the
love and care of Jesus, our Eternal High Priest, who is Lord for ever and ever.
Amen
Mary, Mother of the Church, Look tenderly upon your sons, our priests.

What soap is for the body,
tears are for the soul.
Prayer for today: Lord, I lift up all those who need healing today, whether physical, emotional, men-tal or spiritual. I lift up the
world which seems to spinning out of control, with evil at it's center. You know our needs, You know what is best for us. Please help us to under-stand that we don't see how You see. Help us to come to grips with our own weakness and frailty. Our strength lies in You, O Lord. Today I will lean on You. Sustain me, Lord. Amen

Anger & Forgiveness Catholic psychotherapist Deacon Dr. Bob McDonald pro-vides a spiritual and psychological prescription for overcom-ing the sinful anger that poisons the mind of Christ within, causing alienation and division. His practical wisdom shows that only by learning how to forgive can we hope to promote healing and understanding in our relationships Beyond Belief: Following Christ Today
Fr. Mike Schmitz tackles some of the most difficult topics in the Church today with humor, clarity, and theological truth. In this talk, he challenges us to not settle for mediocrity and to allow Christ to change our lives. Fr. Mike goes on to ex-plain that once we are changed by the love of Jesus, then together we can change the world. and enjoy the blessings of a forgiving heart.

Stewardship Moment June 12, 2016 – 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time “When I entered your house, you did not give me water for my feet…” (Luke 7:44)
Today’s Gospel calls us to consider how we serve God. Do we consume like the Pharisee who simply reclines at the table and expects to be served? Or,
do we contribute like the woman who kneels before Jesus and washes His feet? Every day we must make a choice. Take or give? Consume or contribute? Recline or serve?
Harvey Fire Department
Thank you for your very generous donation to the Harvey Fire De-partment to help us purchase a new fire truck. Our fundraising ef-forts have been going very well and we have reached our goal to pay
for the new truck. The truck has been delivered and has been put into service.
We are very grateful for the response and support we have received from everyone, especially busi-nesses like yours. Thank you again for your support, Sincerely, David Lautt, Fire Chief, Harvey Fire Department
Dear Parishioners & Pastor of St. Cecilia Church, Thank you for your generous gift to the SMP (Sisters of Mary of the Presentation), which 100% will go directly to serve the people in need in south east Cameroon, Afri-
ca where our Sisters serve. May you be richly blessed by God through your generosity. Be assured of our prayers. We appreciate your continued remembering of the needs of the poor. In Jesus, Sister Susanne Stahl, on behalf of the Sisters of Mary of the Presentation
The Catechism of the Catholic Church....
"Take this and eat it, all of you": communion
1384 The Lord addresses an invitation to us, urging us to re-ceive him in the sacrament of the Eucharist: "Truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you."
1385 To respond to this invitation we must prepare our-selves for so great and so holy a moment. St. Paul urges us to examine our conscience: "Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or
drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself." Anyone conscious of a grave sin must receive the sacrament of Reconciliation before coming to communion.
