APRIL– MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH MONTH



PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

VV ocational visits organized every year help reinforce cooperation and leadership

skills among our Rotarians. The visit to Heineken Malaysia Berhad on 16th March 2017 was introduced by Ms Ariamalar, who delivered the welcome speech and explained how this famous beer was brewed and how it was promoted to the consumers. She gave us a guided tour and answered many interesting questions from the Rotarians. One of the most interesting vocational visit to date has to be the recent visit to the Asian (Air Asia) Aviation Center of Excellence (AACE) at Sepang. The visit covered a tour of the aircraft mock-up rooms, the swimming pool for water training etc. The highlight was when participants got to experience driving the plane as a co-pilot in the Full Flight Airbus Simulator. Appropriately the tour ended with a light lunch consisting of the classic Air Asia nasi lemak! Vocational visits thus allow participants to gain knowledge of occupational skills and people that are outside our normal contacts, and serve as an opportunity for Rotarians to bond. “ROTARY SERVING HUMANITY” Sandy Soh Kwee Tin President RY 2016-2017

Friends show you the meaning of true friendship, not the meaningless of it. Friends shoot straight with you, not at you. Friends know most of your faults and care the least. Friends tell you when you are wrong, and not everybody else. Friends don't complain when you neglect them, only when you neglect yourself. Friends let you worry them more than their enemies. Friends want to know about your achievements as well as your losses. Friends are behind you when you're taking bows and beside you when taking boos. Friends don't split with you, when you flop, but split what they have. Friends are your best press agents and they do this for free. CLUB PROCEEDINGS

Rtn Sarkunan thanked PP Dato’ Dr Lee Hoo Teong for a very educational and enlightening presentation. He then presented a memento and a certificate of appreciation to PP Dato’ Dr Lee Hoo Teong. IPP Da IPP

SAA Darren Yong called the meeting to order at 1.15 pm. He welcomed all guests and Rotarians. He then led in the singing of the National Anthem and proposed the Loyal Toast.
