Report On The School Canteen

Based on our findings and the complaints made by the

students about the school canteen, a number of

problems have been identified and the committee has

come up with some suggestion to improve the existing

conditions.

1. Problem:

There is only one food counter serving 1 300

students. This is why there such a rush every

day during interval. There are only four people

to serve the food if the student queue up, there

is not enough time for them to get their food,

find a place to sit and eat their food in peace.

This is the main reason why they push to get to

the front.

Suggestion:

Two more counters should be opened and

more people employed to served the food.

There should be two different break times for

the student so that the number of students in

the canteen at one time will be reduced.

2. Problem:

The menu is displayed on the wall, but for the

past two weeks we have found that there is no

variety in the food sold. Every day the students

are served the same type of fried noodles and

cakes. The quantity is to small considering the

price the students pay.

Suggestion:

The canteen operation should stick to the menu

and the price list that is displayed and the offer

the variety that is shown on the menu. There

must be a standard measurement for portion

served so that students get their money’s worth.

3. Problem:

Only soft drink are sold. These drink are not

healthy at all. They do not have any nutritional

benefits.

Suggestion:

Drinks such as soya bean milk, iced lemon tea

and beverages like Milo and Horlicks should be

included.

4. Problem:

The floor is grimy and dirty with rubbish strewn

everywhere. There are too many plastic bags all

over the place. The stinks are always clogged

and the student cannot wash their hands

properly.

Suggestion:

The canteen floor should be washed every day

when the interval is over. All the rubbish should

be cleared. The stinks should be washed hourly

to prevent clogging. A fine should be imposed

on students who litter. The canteen operator will

have to reduce the use of plastic bags for the

sale of small items like curry puffs.

In conclusion, we have several

recommendations to make. The canteen

operators should meet with student

representatives who can voice the grievances

and put forward the suggestions of the

students. After all, they are providing a service

and the students are their customers. We

should also consider having more caterers

brought in competition should improve the

quality and variety of the food sold in the

canteen.

2.2 Survey Report

NORMAISAH BINTI MOHD SARIJIL 8

To,

Mrs Annie Len,

Teacher-in-charge,

English Language Society.

A survey was carried out among the Form 3

students to find out the number of students who are

interested in going on a trip after PMR examination.

The result showed that 100 students from Form

3 Mawar, Melor , and Anggerik are interested.

The three places suggested for the trip were

Rantau Abang, Pulau Perhentian, and the National

Zoo. 25 students are in favour of going to Rantau

Abang to watch turtles lay eggs on the beach. They

are willing to pay RM75 each for the trip. Majority of

the students prefer to go to Pulau Perhentian for

picnicking and swimming. They do not mind having to

pay RM60 each. 11 students choose the National Zoo

as they want to learn more about animals. They only

need to pay 20 each.

5.0 CONCLUSION

There are many type of report that was use in everyday life. Reports are very

important method of gaining and giving information. Although they may be presented

orally, at a meeting for example, reports are usually presented in writing. The

ultimate purpose of any report is to provide the foundation for decisions to be made

and action taken.

Report was made to make sure that everything that already done in an

association has a record. So that they can refer to the record if anything happen.

Usually report was writing for someone to take attention or for someone to take

action. Therefore, report is very important.

6.0 REFLECTION

Based on this coursework project, I learn many new things. Through this

project, I am exposed to the format and type of report. I learn that there is many type

of report that were use daily. Five of the reports are survey report, event report,

minute of meeting report, complaint report and newspaper report. Each report has

different key feature, however they still have similarity such as date, signature, title of

the report and others.

From this assignment I learn the differences between five reports. From this

assignment I also learn to make a graphic organizer for the report that I have

choose. The report that I choose was minute of meeting report and newspaper

report. From the report I take the main point and I make a graphic organizer.

I learn the way to write an event report from this assignment. The report that

happen in IPG Kampus Tun Hussien On. I choose to write report on the sport day

that occurs on 27 February 2012.

This project also will soon benefit our career as it teach us how write a report.
