EXPERIENCE: How long has he/she been doing this? Also, is this his/her full time job or just a hobby?

PHOTOGRAPHIC STYLE - Fun, formal, artisitic, journalistic, all the above, etc...

HONESTY - Is this the photographer that will be photographing your quinceañera or will they send in whomever is available. Don’t be shocked, this happens more often than you can imagine.

HIS PERSONALITY - Do you get along with him/her? Is there “chemistry”? If you don’t, it will show in your pictures.

APPEARENCE - Ask him/her what will wear the day of the event... NO JEANS PLEASE!!!

DELIVERY - How long does he/she take to deliver your album? Believe it or not, some of them take more than a year!

CONTRACT - Do you understand the contract? Make sure everything is written. Read it ALL.

REFERENCES - A personal reference is always the best and people love to talk. Get a list of references from the photographer and check them out personally. A photographer who doesn’t have references or is afraid to give them to you may not be the person that you want to hire.

TheYou’ve put so much time

and effort into planning your QUINCES you’ll want every

special moment captured for your photo album. But how do you know

which photographer is right for you? whether you’re considering

any of our recommended professionals in this magazine or another

professional, you need to do your homework.

•ColorS: Find two colors that look good together. Try to pick out happy colors. With these colors you can base the invitations, flowers, center pieces, balloons, and decorations.

•YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE: If you have a favorite movie, you can have it as your theme. You can use your imagination for the decorations. If your favorite movie is “Alice in wonderland” you can have a giant mushroom with a catepillar somewhere in the room or you can have a smiling cheshire cat as part of your

decorations. As center pieces you can havelittle bottles that say “drink me”.

When picking a theme you should choose one that adds a personal touch to your party. A theme will make the party more fun for you and your guests. Having a theme will also make it easier to choose decorations .

There are millions of options for themes . All you have to do is find one that suits you. Here we have some examples , but for more information you can go to our website w w w. Q u i n c e a n e r a s M a g a z i n e .C O M

invitations

When you give someone an invitation it’s the first impression they will get of your party, and like everybody knows the first impression is always the most important. So make sure your invitations are what you want and match the theme of your party. There are many companies that make invitations and allow you to add a personal touch to your invitations (like SoloInvitaciones.com).

How many invitations should you buy?You can buy an invitation for every guest or an

invitation per family. Look through your invite list

and see how many invitations you should order.

who will the invitation be directed to? If it’s a couple it should be Mr. and Mrs. (last name).

If it’s a family it should be fam. (last name).

If it’s a friend it could be Miss (first and last name).

If it’s a guy friend you should put Mr. (first and last name).

If you are only inviting two or so people in a family you should direct it to them.

If it’s one person and you don’t know who their plus one is, you

should write Mr.(first and last name) and guest.

NO TO:

It shouldn’t be too poofy , it will make you look like an umbrella!

It also shouldn’t be with allot of decorations along the waist . Since you may not have a long waist it will just call attention to your waist and make you look like you’re parted in half.

YES TO:Simple without too much decorations or complicated details.

A new national survey finds that Latinos between the ages of 16 and 25 are satisfied with their lives and optimistic about their futures. They value education, hard work and career success. But they are more likely than other youths to drop out of school, live in poverty and become teen parents.”*

HERE ARE SOME IDEAS

Of GIfTS YOU CAN GIvE

AS RECUERDITOS...

At every quinceañera they give little gifts as a thank you for coming. favors, recuerdos, souvenirs, cositas are the same thing... At least, they have the same purpose. There are many kind of gifts you can

give. we recommend that you give something that goes along with your theme. Think about something cute and fun that your guests

would like. If it’s an edible goodie, it must be delicious. If it’s a souvenir, it must be something nice to keep.

BOTH HAvE TO BE DONE pERfECTLY! Having a nice hairdo and makeup is important, but make sure your guests can recognize you. You don’t want to go to your party and everyone is whispering who is she? why is she in her dress? Are we at the wrong party? So make sure you are not hiding under the makeup.
