Acquavite di Vinaccia Nardini has been produced in Bassano del Grappa since 1779, when the fore-father Bortolo Nardini rst arrived from the Trentino region. Originally on his way to Venice, Nardini stopped in this bustling little town, strategically situated at the foothills of the Prealps, an area rich in vineyards on the banks of the river Brenta and a major thoroughfare of commerce. Here, on the eastern side of the famous Palladian covered wooden bridge, Bortolo Nardini set up his copper alambics and this is how the oldest grappa distillery in Italy was born. At the Nardini headquarters on the bridge, you can nd the historical Grapperia where the seventh generation of the family still runs the business with the same passion as the founder, expertly blending tradition and innovation.

Grappa, obtained from the distillation of grape pomace, is the traditional and only Italian spirit. The grape pomace is sourced exclusively from the foothills of northeastern Veneto and Friuli and personally selected by the Nardini family. Grappa is selected by the Nardini family, relying on their two centuries of experience and with the aid of the most advanced quality control systems in the market today. Their rigorous quality control ensures Nardini grappa’s are not only excellent, but consistent year after year.

The wine serves as a reminder of his person and the achievements of the vineyard Kupelwieser. “Fritz“ also stands for freshness and liveliness, two typical characteristics of the wine. Only carefully selected grapes from Alto Adige traditionally produced under strict quality standards are used for this wine.

“Fritz“ reects Kupelwieser’s innovative approach: the elegant and stylishdesign of the bottles highlights the appealing and modern quality of thedistinguished wine. The key feature is value: it builds condence, today asback then!

FRECCIAROSSACasteggio, Pavia, Italywww.frecciarossa.it

A deep family history and passion for wine viticulture saw Mario Odero at the end of the First World War purchase Frecciarossa Estate, where he devoted himself to the world of wine intent on taking his wine, and the whole of Oltrepo Pavese area with it, internationally. Odero’s rst commercial intuition was to sell wine in bottles when wine at that time was sold in bulk or demijohns.

Together with his son Giorgio, in 1920 the Frecciarossa Estate began transformations in earnest, where the extensions of the cellars began. Thanks to careful business practices, the Viceroys of the Indies and the Italian Royal Family, made Frecciarossa their ocial supplier. With this new prestige Frecciarossa wines entered the international market.

In recent years the cellars have been renovated and adapted to modern vinication techniques and the vineyards replanted. The vineyards are cultivated with the aim of nding the right vegetation productive balance. Manure is used to fertilise the vineyard, a spontaneous grassy mantle develops in order to create competition with the root system of the plant. The vineyard is planted with a high density of vinestocks per hectare, short pruning, targeted crop thinning is carried out to reduce vigour and to privilege the fruit as much as possible. In this way grapes with precise characteristics that reect their territory of origin to the full are obtained.

SAVIGNOLA PAOLINAGreve in Chianti, Florence, Italywww.savignolapaolina.it

Savignola estate grows the Sangiovese grapes as well as Colorino di Toscana, Merlot and Malvasia Nera. The grapes are carefully selected before and during harvest, which is done by hand and vinication takes place at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks.

Savignola Paolina produces about 35,000 bottles annually of Chianti Classico vintage and ‘Riserva’, ‘Il Granaio’, which bears the appellation IGT of Tuscany. It has been a member of the “Consorzio Chianti Classico Gall Nero” since November 1924.

Ludovica Fabbri, representing the fourth generation of the Fabbri family, inherited the Savignola estate from Paolina, a determined lady of her time. Ludovica has introduced modern wine making methods with stronger viticultural practices, as well as planting new vineyards she has arranged to build a new wine making and storage facility to create more space for continuing the production of high quality wines.

Savignola, whose name has Etruscan origins, was originally a Christian complex, built around the rst half of the 17th century, which also had jurisdiction over the surrounding woods. The wine cellar also dates from the 17th century and today you can still admire the original stone vault.

Poggio Ridente’ - ‘the Smiling Hill’ is the name of the vineyard on which thrive the vines Barbera, Albarossa and Bonarda. Located on the summit, 491 meters above sea level and because of its’ particular climatic conditions it is called the "Riviera del Monferrato".

In all, the company has 20 hectares of which 9 hectares are vineyards, surrounded by woods and hedges, all over 450 meters above sea level. This biological chain of events leads us towards a horizon even more fascinating, the quest to be transformed into a biodynamic farm.

“In discussions between Luigi, our agronomist and I, we talk about how our family and company can intervene in the vineyard and winery. I look to my father, who has always upheld past traditions, and I am convinced that today the future is to seize that part of the past that, today has become so innovative. The use of traditional methods then, that are very similar to biodynamics, is an opportunity for this small company to oer an alternative from the bigger wine producers, and allows us to create a charming wine that is the direct expression of the earth from where it was born".

Cantina Enrico Serano was founded in 1878 in Canale d’Alba, one of the main towns of the Roero district and a farming centre with a long history that can be traced back to the early Middle Ages.

The quality and personality of the wines made from our grape varieties are derived from Roero’s particular biodiversity. Here the cultivars are able to express themselves to the full, thanks to the following factors:

• extremely favourable microclimate and soil conditions;

• geological origin of the soil, which is sandy with a high content of marine fossils, yielding fragrant, elegant wines.
