    TIAA is a nonprofit association ofcompanies and government organizations whichwas formed to promote travel within the UnitedStates.

    The programs of TIAA are classified in thefollowing categories:

    Marketing facilitation-promotes and facilitatestravel to and within the United States through thespecial promotions and travel marts.

    Tourism Research-works with United StatesTravel and Tourism Administration(USTTA) and the

    US Travel Date Center in order to promote andunderstanding of the economic and social well-being of the nationas a result of travel.

    ASTA is one of the largest travel associationin the United States. It includes agencies and tour
