Proevce, Kumanovo, MKD [ROCK CLIMBING GUIDE] GLYT & CID Page 1 Proevce: Rock Climbing Guide Proevce is a small village located on the Eastern edge of the city of Kumanovo in the North East of the Republic of Macedonia. Within the village is a small park with a natural water spring, just above this natural water spring is a small array of rocks called Zivkova Karpa where there are several opportunities for a variety of small and simple, but fun climbing including Trad & Bouldering. There are 2 main rocks face with food opportunity for climbing: 1. Davidovska Rock – A flat south facing cliff face approximately 8 – 10 metres in total height. The rock has a small cave hole formation going through it and overlooks all of Kumanovo especially from the top where is it fairly simple to set up a top rope system. 2. The West Face – The west face is a highly wooded West facing wall that runs all the way up the steep path leading the top. It starts from the abandoned train tracks at the bottom where there is a small cave in the wall. Here are a few of the climbs and boulders that have already be completed and registered. Proevce: Rock Climbing Guide

Proevce is a small village located on the Eastern edge of the city of Kumanovo in the North East of

the Republic of Macedonia. Within the village is a small park with a natural water spring, just above

this natural water spring is a small array of rocks called Zivkova Karpa where there are several

opportunities for a variety of small and simple, but fun climbing including Trad & Bouldering.

There are 2 main rocks face with food opportunity for climbing:

1. Davidovska Rock – A flat south facing cliff face approximately 8 – 10 metres in total height.

Roped Routes

Ивана (Cyrillic) Ivana (Latin):

Grade: 4B - Height: 8m

Trad grade unknown. Ивана is to the right hand side just next

to the small boulder route Ivana's Boulder. It is a simple top

rope route that will turns much harder leading as trad

placements are hard and some rocks are loose.

Давидиовска (Cyrillic) Davidovska

(Latin):

Grade: 6A - Height: 8m

Trad grade unknown. Давидовска is dead in the

middle of the face just left of a small cave /

tunnel in the cliff face.

Boulder Routes

Ivana's Boulder:

Grade: VB – Height 3m

Simple 3m Boulder to the left of roped route

Ivana.

Arête Stairway:

Grade: VB – Height 8m

A small scramble style boulder up and over a small cave style hole to the top of the roped climbs

started from the Eastern edge of the rock face.

Roped Routes

An Interesting Journey:

Grade: 4A – Height: 10m

Cut out from the woody area

growing from the bottom

tear of the West Face near

the top of the steep path to

the top of the hill and fun

simple route next to a cave

half way up the wall. Small

overhang at very top. A

lengthy bit of static rope is

recommended for setting up top rope using the cave pillar at the top.

Boulder Routes

Warm Up:

Grade: VB – Height: 2.5m

To the left of Mio on the beginning small platform that starts the top tier of The West Face.

Mio:

Grade: VB – Height: 2.5m

Round the left hand side of the boulder arête Duca.

Duca:

Grade: VB – Height: 5m

Simple little Arête climb in the middle of the West facing rock face.

Vesta:

Grade: VB – Height 3m

Simple teaser boulder middle of second platform of west rock face.

Zena:

Grade: VB – Height 3m

Simple boulder above Ivana's Boulder on the south edge of the west facing rock face.
