HJMS - School Improvement Action Plan
SMART Goal 1: During the 2018-2019 school year, we will increase the percentage of students in grade level cohorts scoring proficient and distinguished on the ELA Georgia Milestones in 2017-2018 5th to 2018-2019 6th from 41% to 58%, 2017-2018 6th to 2018-2019 7th from 37% to 55%, and 2017-2018 7th to 2018-2019 8th from 27% to 45%, (not including 9th Literature EOC).
SMART Goal 2: During the 2018-2019 school year, we will increase the percentage of students who have met their Lexile growth goal in 6th grade from _____ to _____, 7th grade _____ to _____, and 8th grade from _____ to _____ starting with a baseline established after the 2nd Reading Inventory administration in Oct 2018.
Strategy/Initiative: Increased eyes on text, innovative strategies for teaching vocabulary, reading/reading comprehension strategies (Quad Text Sets, PALS, Reciprocal Teaching) increased use of technology-based resources (MyOn, USA Test Prep, Achieve3000), reading connections and literacy-focused NBI.
