Our activitiesISARA-Lyon is a private engineering college specialized in agriculture and agri-food
business recognized by the French Ministry of Agriculture. It offers a wide range of
training options concerning agriculture, agri-food, rural development, agri-business and
environmental sciences.
ISARA-Lyon is part of a network of colleges specialized in agriculture (FESIA – www.fesia.org)
involving around 6,000 students. It mainly offers engineering degrees (5 years divided into two
cycles) as well as 2-year Master programmes available for foreign students.
ISARA-Lyon also develops research activities and advisory services (see www.isara.fr).
The training programmes offered by ISARA-Lyon combine theory and practice. Each semester enables you to obtain 30 ECTS. Detailed information can be found in the ECTS guide available on our website: www.isara.fr (“International” section).

ISARA-Lyon Engineering Degree It aims at training students, who will assume responsibilities in agriculture and food sectors (agri-industry, agri-food industry, supply) as well as in the fields of rural development and environment.

The Master Degreesdeveloped in English
European Master in agroecology www.agroecos.frThis training course in Agroecology aims at analyzing the technical and environmental
characteristics of agricultural production, taking into account its links with society, public
institutions and commercial organizations. This European training offers prospects in the field of
agriculture, rural development and environmental protection.
Cheng Master in agri-business and agri-food www.cheng-international.comThe Master Course will train the future executives of agricultural and agri-food companies, who
will have to meet the challenges coming from the strengthening position of China in food product
international trade.
EURAMA Master in animal production www.eurama.orgThis Master Course trains executives, who have a technical expertise of all animal production
sectors as well as managing skills adapted to European context.
The training involves:
- A first cycle (B.Sc. level) during the three first years, - A second cycle (M.Sc. level) based on optional courses during the fourth and fifth years, - Applied works in France and abroad, which enable students to discover technical, economical and social situations, and give them the opportunity to implement and test the knowledge and tools acquired, - The opportunity to validate teaching per Course Units in accordance with ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) rules.

AIM: training students who will be able to assume manager positions in agri-food and agri-supply companies and in the professional organizations involved in the development of these sectors. This training path is dedicated to students willing to specialize in corporate management and innovation.
AIM: training students who will be able to implement and lead research and development as well as industrialization projects, technological processes or quality policies for agri-food companies. This training path is dedicated to students willing to specialize in agri-food, nutrition and food quality and safety.

A training combining theory and practice:

A training focused on action and application:
• A practical application through an applied work carried out in group at the request of a
professional organization,
• An individual research project, which aims at deepening a scientific or technological question in
using various information sources (bibliography, interviews, laboratory work, databases…),
• Case studies in relation with lectures,
• Practicals and tutorials,
• Field trips,
• Master thesis: settlement of a specific practical or research problem requested by a company
or a laboratory.
A tailor-made method:• Individual follow-up,
• Tailor-made teaching methods and evaluation procedures,
• Update of theoretical knowledge on various topics (statistics, survey methods, agronomy, animal production science, processing of food products, microbiology),
• Support to the acquisition and development of skills in French language (intensive courses in September, regular courses during the year, along with courses in another European language),
• Tutoring by an engineering-student from ISARA-Lyon.
ISARA-Lyon also offers the students an opportunity to do in their training period in France an internship on a farm, in a research laboratory or in a company.

Once ISARA-Lyon has accepted his/her application, the student shall send the “Learning Agreement and Transcript of Records” document included in the application form two months prior to the beginning of the courses. Other documents will be required at his/her arrival.
Students willing to improve their French can:
- attend courses on Thursday afternoon at ISARA-Lyon
- attend an intensive programme at ILCF (Institut de Langue et de Culture Française / Université Catholique de Lyon www.ilcf.net/index.htm)
