    1. INTRODUCTION

    As a second semester MBA student in Jai Bharath School of Management

    Studies, I Mohammed Shafin cs had to undertake a project work, which I was done at

    Hindalco Industries Ltd, Alupuram. he project work conducted !" me was concerned

    Hindalco Industries Limited is the metals flagship of Adit"a Birla %roup. he metal

    major is a glo!al !ehemoth with footprint in '( countries and a consolidated turno#er

    of us )'*.+* !illion. It is the worlds largest aluminium rolling compan" and one of the

    !iggest producers of primar" aluminium in Asia. Its copper smelter is the worlds

    largest custom smelter at a single location.

    Smelters are located at Hirakud, 1rissa, with a capti#e power plant and coal

    Belur and haloja and an e&trusion plant at Alupuram, Derala.

    March 677*. he Hindalco Alupuram e&trusion offers a wide range of allo"s shapes in
