On January 13, 1913, 22 college women at Howard University established Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as a Greek-lettered organization dedicated to public service. One month later on March 3rd, 1913, the sorority marched for Women’s Suffrage in Washington, DC : the Sorority's first public act.
