Summary of Committee Activities: For the month of October EMBODI had an opportunity to

collaborate with the Black Seminarians from( TCU /BRITE) Divinity School Minister Anthony Chatman

Sr. and Minister Jonathan Lowe engaged the young gentlemen in conversations about how important

they are to the EMBODI program. They poled the gentlemen about their personal expectations for the

monthly program. As a result of the aforementioned the coordinators will be infusing a couple new

ideas that already fit into our national program. The Ministers provided each participant with two neck

ties and taught them two separate techniques of making a double Windsor knot and a Double Bow tie.

The gentle were extremely engaged and had lots of fun. Kudos to Co-Chair Brittany Mitchell and Soror

Jasmine Lowe for all of their hard work and dedication during the panning and dedication.

Committee Co-Chair: Brittany Bailey

Committee Co-Chair: Shavon Cormick

Five-Point Programmatic Thrust Category: Political Awareness & Involvement

Meeting Date: 10/22/20106

Meeting Location: Unity Park

Participants: Committee members

Summary of Committee Activities: The Fort Worth Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority Inc.

led the charge to alleviate one of the stresses that countless homeless men, women and children face

every day…hunger. In collaboration with the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Sorors fed over 600 members of the homeless community on Saturday, October 22nd at Unity Park in

Fort Worth.

Sorors began arriving at Unity Park in Fort Worth at 8:30 a.m. to set for the day of service and quickly organized an assembly style line to efficiently plate the lunches. Lunch service started at 10 a.m. The plated lunches were served family style at tables throughout the park. Each meal consisted of a cheeseburger, hotdog, beans/chili, chips, a beverage and pastries. This event far exceeded the goal of feeding 400 members of the homeless community. It was a humbling experience to be a blessing to over 600 men, women and children served on Saturday morning.
