Summary of Committee Activities: The Fort Worth Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority Inc.
led the charge to alleviate one of the stresses that countless homeless men, women and children face
every day…hunger. In collaboration with the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Sorors fed over 600 members of the homeless community on Saturday, October 22nd at Unity Park in
Fort Worth.
Sorors began arriving at Unity Park in Fort Worth at 8:30 a.m. to set for the day of service and quickly organized an assembly style line to efficiently plate the lunches. Lunch service started at 10 a.m. The plated lunches were served family style at tables throughout the park. Each meal consisted of a cheeseburger, hotdog, beans/chili, chips, a beverage and pastries. This event far exceeded the goal of feeding 400 members of the homeless community. It was a humbling experience to be a blessing to over 600 men, women and children served on Saturday morning.
