What is Dry Ice Blasting?Dry ice blasting is a process where dry ice (solid CO2) pellets are accelerated in a pressur-ized air stream to clean or prepare a surface. Through sublimation, where CO2 instantly changes from a solid to a gas, the pellets create mini-explosions upon impact to effectively clean nearly any surface. Since it leaves behind no residue, dry ice blasting has become the most efficient and environmentally friendly way to clean in an industrial or domestic environment.

Dry ice is non-conductive, chemically inert, non-poisonous and nonflammable. It has the ability to clean a wide variety of surfaces including weld cells, production equipment, food processing equipment, printing presses, walls, windows, monuments and more. Dry ice can even be used on sensitive surfaces, such as active electrical equipment and outdoor sculp-tures, without causing damage.

The Nu-Ice Age Co2mmando 55 dry ice blasting machine provides an economical and efficient way to clean a wide variety of surfaces using standard dry ice pellets. The key advantages of dry ice blasting are that it leaves behind no secondary waste (CO2 sublimates) and since it’s nonflammable and nonconductive, most equipment and machinery can be cleaned in place without any disassembly or cooling, reducing downtime in an industrial environment. Dry ice blasting is the ideal way to clean welding cells, production equipment, food processing equipment, ventilation systems and more! The Co2mmando 55 features a 55 lb (25 kg) hopper capacity, robust body built for industrial use, and a patent pending spun stainless steel hopper that prevents ice bridging (common in other machines).
